Extract of sample "Expression of Interest"

Expression of interest Insert Insert It is generally believed that contemporary art in the United Arab Emirate has taken too long toget to awaken. However, my opinion is, this is not the case because some countries form the UAE took root in contemporary arts as from the early 90s. Arab art has attracted the attention of the international art world. Value of commodity of the art work is rising steadily because of the more and more collectors of the art works. The cultural infrastructure has therefore been furnished and expanded through the projects which are being initiated in the region such as the Gulf Region. More capital, (money in billions), has been set aside for satellite museums of Louvre and Guggenheim. The nearby Saadiyat cultural center is yet to be modified into a world-class cultural center. More money, in accordance to the master plan that was completed in early 2007, has been set aside for construction of a biennial park with pavilions for cultural events and arts, five museums and a performing art center. Galleries and museums are Doge’s Palace, which has a history of prisoners in the Venice. It contains spectacular artworks and paintings. Its architectural design is a masterpiece in itself with a great sense of beauty. The Basilica of St Mark, which contains three chapels in it, the Treasury, Sanctuary and Museo is yet another. It contains the St. Mark’s tomb. It also contains Gothic Byzantine, Romansque art. Though it is constructed with bricks, it is covered with marble carvings. Venice academy gallery museum of art is another top art space. The most attractive things among others here are the two artworks The Tempest by Bellini and Feast in the House of Levi by Veronese. This museum also contains collections which are most complete as from the 13th to 18th century. It is also the headquarters of one of the oldest fraternities in in Venice- the confraternity of Our Lady of Assumption. The interior design of the Ca’Rezzonico brings it to the map of top museums in the UAE (Wandor, 2004). It ‘is a palace which contains three floors and the third floor is a whole art gallery full of primary art works majorly from the North eastern part of Italy. The Corres museum is another top ranking museum in Italy, which is named after Venice’s own aristocrat. It contains St Mark’s library, statues of Italian gods, staues of Orpheus and Eurydice (the ill-fated lovers). Generally, these art spaces are rich in the Italian culture especially when it comes to archaeology, natural history, science, popular medicine, astronomy and traditional jewelry. When it comes to managing exhibitions and events, it has its pros and cons and I can attest to them. On a good note, this is a great chance of communicating to your clients one on one and research shows that it is very effective because clients get a clear interpretation of the commodity or service (Wandor, 2004). Someone can also experience a rise in the number of contacts as many people can attend an event at once thus making it a very flexible activity. With holding an exhibition, it provides a perfect platform of promoting a commodity therefore making it an income generating activity. It can be the best way to launch a new product. It also creates a great PR which is very useful in the trading field. However, outdoor events can be affected adversely by the unpredictable weather changes. With this, the mission of the exhibition may not be achieved thus a waste of resources (Wandor, 2004). Some events may only reach a small audience and in this case the target mission is not accomplished. Exhibitions are heavy in administration as they require an elaborate forward planning and proper marketing. In most events, audience size is limited depending on the space allocated or available funds. It can be dominated by an individual therefore it satisfies personal interests of a single person. When the target audience is wrong, the exhibition may not achieve the intended purpose. I have not interned before, however I believe that an internship is an opportunity to test the interest in my career before being permanently committed to it. It is also an opportunity to develop skills and techniques which are directly applicable to my career and make me stand out in this competitive world (Wandor, 2004). Besides, the internship will give me an opportunity to develop attitudes which are effective to interpersonal relationships and increase my sense of responsibility. I am certain that I will develop in-depth knowledge of functional activities which are formal in my area of specialization and also be able to understand the informal interrelationships in the organization. With this internship, I will be able to convert my skills from application theory to the practical work situation. I will also be able to adjust from college life to full time employment and this will grant me an opportunity to earn salary while am still pursuing my educational goals. This will then help me pay for my educational expenses. An internship will also help me to develop employment records and references which will greatly enhance my employment opportunities. An internship will also help me to increase my sense of responsibility thus developing my leadership skills and consequently make my working habits better which will in turn give me confidence of my work (Wandor, 2004). The internship will also help me realize the gaps and flaws in my academics work and correct them before employment. An internship will also grant me an opportunity to network with professionals in my line of duty and showcase my talent. It will also enable me to build a strong resume with academic credits and this will polish my job searching skills. By travelling internationally, am able to adapt to different environments and cultures and able to form a home away from home. With this, I have been able to gain greater application for diversity together with other cultural differences through voluntary services done during my free time this has enhanced cultural awareness and sensitivity to new customs and cultural differences (Wandor, 2004). I have also been able to o adapt to cultural differences through day to day interactions with the individuals in my new home. On the same note, I have managed to foster cultural understanding and overcome societal differences among the people I live with this has helped me to appreciate unity in diversity. Travelling internationally has made me improve my communication skills. I have developed language competence by being fast in learning foreign languages. This is often boosted by my new friends because I have to maintain dialogue with them. The use of non-verbal cues has played a great role in enhancing my language competence too. Am able to identify and achieve my goals through travelling internationally. Since am not destined at one place for eternity, I realize what has made me come all the way, set my goals right in accordance to the stipulated time and I give it my best. I am able to know people with their different political views and systems in different nations and states and their economic status. This sums up to my general knowledge of global economic and political status. Ability to maintain an open mind and being tolerant to others is yet another experience I have acquired. In my travel skills acquired, I have learnt to be organized and manage the few resources that I have for my survival in foreign places and this has made me to be independent. By participating in the Venice, I have high hopes that I will acquire the relevant skills which will contribute to my CV. I also expect to receive potential contacts who will be handy for my future job, perhaps in the Venice. I will gain more knowledge in my field of specialization and understand my roles in the line of duty (Wandor, 2004). I also expect to learn, understand and appreciate the culture of the people of Venice and Italy at large. i also hope that working in the Venice will give help me move into my professional career with a lot of ease. With the new approach that Venice theater is taking in a bid to help the youth, I too will be a beneficiary. I believe I am suitable and ready for the 2015 internship in the Venice because I am a hardworking, disciplined, and self-driven and result oriented student who is ready to work with minimal or no supervision. I easily adapt to change and ready to work in any environment. Besides, I have worked in a museum before as an acting research assistant where my responsibility was to update the membership data of the museum and also give solutions, suggestions and direction for the good of the public. The experience I have in travelling internationally, making new friends, learning and appreciating new cultures, hence making me and organized and purpose driven person gives me confidence that I can comfortably adapt in the Venice. My proficiency in English, Chinese and Arabic are an added advantage. References Wandor, M. (2004). Creative Writing and Pedagogy 1: Self Expression? Whose Self and What Expression?.
