Also, it increases the number of behaviors and diverse ideas which help in problem solving. Diversity does not always meet expectations. It is based on assimilation and differentiation (class notes 12). Assimilation refers to the idea of equality that we are all the same which mean we have equal amount of opportunities and differentiation mean celebrating differences from philosophy point of view. So, it has its positive and negative effects. The business case directly affects the employee and their talent.

Employees are the real strength of any business. When it comes to diversity in business, there is fresh information from every employee. Exchange of information between colleagues, teams and customers depends on the quality of interaction among them. It is being thought as the most important factor in success of business or organizations. It yields greater adaptability and flexibility. Diversity seems attractive and it maintains the standards of organizations. Also, there is increase in sales and profits if utilized this diversity factor properly.

The business advantage for workplace diversity is short and long terms. The companies want short term results which gain less profits whereas using diversity of thought has long term advantages. Long term results which are yielded through diversity of thoughts bring innovations and creativity which benefits the company in long term in research, sales and profits. Nokia in the end of 2008 and beginning of 2009 suffered through such situation. A soapbox Bog Hub was set by Nokia in order to employee bloggers all around the world.
