s convergent behavioral tendencies and patterns as facilitated by modern technology are as impervious to exogenous influences as they are susceptible to whimsicalities of social websites such as face book. Such concourses facilitate communication and thus intensify the gregarious instinct of the man. However as this study has proved it there is no guarantee that couples have found satisfaction in such relations. Online communication especially texting has acquired a formidable dimension in that CMC ensures not only secrecy but it also entails deceit and prevarication.

Implications of such social intercourse in a CMC environment have been delineated by previous researchers too but the outcomes have invariably been lauded with ineffective analysis. Very few writers have successfully established normative convergent or/and divergent behavioral paradigms that can be subject to quantitative and qualitative investigation. In contingency model building associated with CMC and convergent/divergent behaviors on the part of participants, there is a raison d’être behind the causative elemental behaviors of individual participants in CMC environments.

Such environments are sustained necessarily by the very dignity and culture of those participants though arguably there exists enough freedom for divergent or centrifugal behaviors. As already enunciated in the literature review of this study, a clash of interests among different groups of participants can be due to the fact that those who deviate away from the established normative pattern of behavior are the black sheep which regard the rest as ‘uncompromising’. A particularly disturbing socio-cultural behavioral pattern comes into existence though with its own set of norm-based attitudes.

If these attitudinal perspectives were of any guidance in explaining the behavioral outcomes in the CMC environment then as the results of this study show there is a somewhat negative correlation between the degree of divergence on
