Political violence generally erupt when socio economic inequality is in raise. (Zimmermann, Ekkert, 1980 ) Oppression can be defined as any situation in which one objectively exploits other. Obstructing one’s pursuit of self affirmation as a responsible person can also be classified under this. (Freire, P, 1993). Discrimination (Freire, 1993, p 37) and/or the unequal distribution of power, status, authority, resources and/or opportunities are the main roots of oppression. Frieire’s fear over oppression that its reality absorbed those within it and those who wished for liberation from such practice is not still allayed.

As Thompson pointed out, any attempt to intervene the system in a pious and virtuous motto either adds to oppression or moves very little and gets faded out at a stage where the oppressive practice is just condoned. (Thompson, N, 2001) Anti oppressive practice is technically a soft way to handle oppressive practice. The sociological understanding of oppression is still to go deep. For this a society needs to understand power imbalance, balance of power and the hegemonies’ quality and their goal.

Hegemony is a seemingly nice set of practice that serves for the welfare of all concerned. But in practice the domination that dominates hegemony adds much to oppressive practice. Constituent allies in a group are stratified to take different sides although they are accepted and considered as constituent parts of the same group. For the power dominant constituent in such group, this type of accepting their allies is a great benefit. Powered group supplies what are all needed to others in the group thereby silencing them from making their ideologies overt.

However their silence can not be construed as their whole hearted acceptance. Silenced group when realizes the ill effect of their silence, has the only one option of coming out of the group. Less powered group or individuals with inferior out come bring their own fate
