Therefore, in a change of government, the Democratic Party had better policies. My family has always been supporters of the party based on some of the great policies that they had for the country. We have always believed that the Democratic Party government is the only one that could take the USA back to where it used to be and make it even better (Lantis, 43). Constitutionally, parties represent people. People usually have views and opinions on what their government should represent. In the paper, I will be discussing some of the major policies presented by the Democratic Party government to its citizens.

Democratic Party has good economic policies which will be able to create positive economic growth for the country. First of all, DP had hoped to introduce to reduce taxes on essential goods and even the basic salaries of people (Lantis, 67). The main reason for this was to ensure that people remained with more money instead of the government taking most of it. Disposable income is basically what gives people purchasing power, and the ability to invest and make certain goods and services. The party argues that high disposable income equals a country’s GDP. Another way in which the USA was going to boost the economy was by attracting investors by having good policies. The government hence introduced low taxes on foreigners and some cases, provided tax-free periods to attract more foreign people to invest in their country (Lantis, 73). I believe the policy has been effective since the county managed to pull from the economic depression of 2008-2010 and seems to be recording a positive movement. I have confidence in the party, that if given another 20 years, the US economy will be very powerful. I appreciated this policy when my parents who got unemployed back in 2010, got their jobs back in their respective companies.

Another great policy that the Democratic Party had in place was the move to increase job opportunities. The USA had been having a problem with unemployment ever since its economy plunged in 2008. Many people lost their careers and livelihood. In their policy, they had a vision of creating new employment opportunities. They advocated that new industries will be built while they are in power, including reviving old ones. In addition, the move to attract foreign investors was supposed to create employment opportunities too. In addition, the government introduced welfare groups and investment companies that offered loans and advice to youths to develop their own business to employ others. All in all, by 2014, unemployment rates have managed to decrease as people are getting employed in both the public and the private sector.

Democratic Party is known to be a pusher of healthcare reforms. The health care system in the USA had become very expensive and inaccessible to low-class people. It reached a point when doctors could not be found in public hospitals as they had ventured into private business as it had more money. Democratic party hence came up with policies that would ensure every citizen benefited from the health care system. First of all, the party proposed cheap health insurance coverage which most people would be able to access. In addition, it opened up several free clinics which those who could not afford, at least had the benefit of receiving medical help. Anyway, the policy is still going to be enacted as it bears more benefit to the common citizen.

Democratic Party has been very equivocal in the fight against terrorism as stated in the policy. The USA has always been a target of its enemies through terrorist activities. Ever since the USA was bombed by a terrorist in September, 11th attack, quite a lot of attention was focused on matters of security. Democratic Party came up with several solutions for how they would tackle the mess (Peceny, 56). The party managed to tackle the root cause that was causing them to be a target, which was the presence of the USA military in Middle East countries. In addition, they increased the training of its army to deal with terrorists too. Furthermore, border patrols were intensified at all major entry and exit points to ensure that no terrorists entered the country unnoticed. Through networking with other countries, a tactical team was formed to gather international intelligence regarding terrorist activities targeting US citizens (Peceny, 66).

As I conclude, I have always had my confidence in the Democratic Party as I believe it is the only party that can steer the US to a sensible spot. Based on some of their policies, and the steps they have taken to achieve them, I believe, if given another term in office, Democratic Party can surprise many (Peceny, 78). Furthermore, I do like the leaders who run Democratic Party like President Barack Obama since they do exhibit good leadership skills, unlike those from other parties. It will be an honor for me to constantly vote for this party because the party stands for the common citizen. I believe America will be in a better place when placed in the hands of the democrats.
