Financial Aid Progress Suspension Appeal Form Dear Financial Aid Committee, It is an honor to get the opportunity of writing to the committee to ask you to reconsider any decision you made concerning my Financial Aid. Firstly, I am grateful for you taking time to read this letter. Before I even start explaining the events that have happened earlier, I would like to categorically state that I do not intend to put any blame on anybody for what has befallen me and thus I am fully responsible for any action that led to my study negligence.

In the transcript I had earlier written to the professors, I stated that I was not consistently attending classes from spring. I had a very serious emergency, which made me leave the United States of America for some time and decide to go to my native country, the Dominican Republic. My wife has a history of stroke and after moving to the US, she became unwell and this forced me to take her to the Emergency Room here in Worcester. Everything was looking good, but few days her condition worsened and this made me look for a better solution as her life means a lot to me.

I decided to take her back to her personal doctor based in the Dominican Republic to examine her closely and figure out what was wrong with her. On reaching Dominican Republic, she got admitted to the hospital for some time but soon after recovering, she was discharged though doctors come to her parents home to conduct further checks on her. It was my delight on hearing that she is doing well, and I am hopeful that she recovers in time. It is around this time that my grandfather became hospitalized after suffering a relapse of his cancer disease, a disease he has been fighting for the last twenty years.

A month after being hospitalized, he sadly succumbed to the disease. This semester has been tough for my family, and me, and I would appreciate it if the committee helps me in solving this issue of funds. At this point, I am presenting some documents to the school about my situation. Being a person who likes and values education, I assumed it would be wise to come up with various strategies that would assist me cover for all the time lost. Like any other student joining college, it is also my objective to finish my college studies successfully as that the main objective as I joined college.

The first step I intend to undertake is becoming fully committed to any work done at school by utilizing the readily available resources to me such as school centers and the library. I have not been maintaining a close relationship with my professors, but its time I establish a close relationship with them. I have come to realize how helpful it is for a student to contact his or her lecturer when faced with various course related problems. To compensate on the lost time, I am willing to take extra classes for those units I failed to attend while I was away.

It is my objective to work extremely hard to prove to the committee and other involved parties that it would not be a mistake reinstating my Financial Aid. I am in deep fear that the failure to get the Financial Aid will reduce my involvement and attendance in school. This would greatly hamper my chances of making it past university and becoming a useful member to the society. Thank youSincerely,
