In general, the article describes the way in which Asians American fit in the society in regards to the way in which society members perceive them because of their level of citizenship. The article uses interviews as methodology as it selected data from various institutions and collected first hand data on their perception of Asian Americans. The article divided its research framework in to two parts in which Asian Americans can be stereotyped: Competence and sociability. Competence was a study aimed at determining prejudice based on the high competency associated with Asian Americans and sociability studies depicted the way in which social framework diminish the significance of Asian Americans (Monica et.al, 2005). The article realized that the most appropriate correspondents to use were University students as it selected correspondents from three campuses. In addition, the article focused on theory findings and disregarded practical findings as it would have minimized the effectiveness of data obtained from the correspondents. From the article, sociability recorded the most number of causes of prejudice against Asian Americans as competency was a cause to few correspondents. The main reason for this direction on the data collected is the fact that Americans have a social system that tends to exclude other races from its fit. The article also realized that most respondents appreciate the competency level of Asian Americans. With the change in perception from social system this problem would be solved. Prejudice in the Lives of Asian Americans This article focuses on analyzing the depth at which Asian Americans are prejudiced and discriminated in the modern day American society. The article mainly focuses on comparing the perception towards Asian Americans to other minority groups such as Jews the blacks. The article also creates a summary of the history of prejudice towards Asian Americans and the reason as to why laws do favor the creation of equal treatment towards Asian Americans. The article uses data from already done research on the same problem. The article argues that among all existing groups in America, Asian Americans were held with the least regards if compared to blacks, Jews, Hispanics and whites (Weaver, 2012). This is based on the assumption that Asian Americans consist of the lowest population among the cited groups considering the massive number of the Blacks, Jews, Hispanics and the White. In addition, media activism exclude the fact that Asian Americans are the most discriminated against as the main focus is directed towards Blacks (Weaver, 2012). This is based on that Asian Americans tend to be more successful than any other minority group in the United States as they rarely react to the act of prejudice directed to them. They are superior in regards to emotion, intellectual and social factors. Prejudices towards Asian Americans are created in social frameworks in the America society as they are excluded from any social interactions. The article also concludes to that laws created to protect minority groups in the United States are disregarded mostly towards Asian Americans. Racial prejudice in the 2008 election This article focuses on establishing the role of prejudice played in the 2008 election in the United States which saw the first election of power of a black president. In general, the article analyzes the extent at which racism was used or not used in the success story of President Obama in the 2008 election. The article uses direct interviews to obtain data and located information from election websites. The article is of the assumption that President Obama realized the fact that race would be a significant issue in his campaigns considering his cultural roots in Kenya. For this reason, Obama rarely mentioned his racial affiliation to minimize the creation of racially affiliated perceptions of him by the whites. However, the article acknowledges that not all white people are inclined to make decision based on racial affiliations but a majority number of whites focus on race as a determinant to make decisions. In the 2008 election, prejudice towards the black was significant since white made up the majority of the registered voters. The article records data that depicts numerous prejudices towards the black people from their ability to work hard to their ability to cater to the needs of the American citizens. From the data collected there were varying data on the ability of a black president to succeed. All the respondents were white and their provided varying decisions as some supported the presidency of Obama (Pitson, 2010). In addition, some did not support his candidature but did not cite race an issue towards their disapproval (Pitson, 2010). Distributing Prejudice Unequally This article focuses on prejudice among white people considering that the whites are the majority in the United States and record the most cases of racial discrimination. The article explains that prejudice by the whites towards minority groups vary on the significance of the group. The article uses interviews and personal reactions to collect the information they required. The article creates the assumption that the superiority of a minority group determined the level of prejudice directed towards them by the white population (Kaiser, 2009). The author creates an example with Black Americans where white people have an increased negative perception than any other group. This selection is based by the level at which the whites feel threatened by the existence a minority group: a superior minority group has greater access to employment opportunities, activism based privileges and national attention. As the food chain leaders, the whites are always worried on the significant growth the black Americans (Kaiser, 2009). In the data collection process, correspondents were placed in a lad and presented with the specimens from all minority groups and their first reaction recorded. Correspondents displayed more negativity when presented with specimens from superior races and less prejudice towards minority group with less potential.
