Full Towards Higher Education After four years of completing Electrical Engineering undergraduate program at one of the best US Engineering schools, I wanted to continue with my graduate studies in Electrical Engineering at [ ]. I highly regard the aforementioned university for the quality of education provided by the efficient and hard-working professors. I believe that the knowledge I gained through my education and experiences will still grow and improve in the school as I will be nurtured and influenced by experts in the field I am taking.
With the help of the school, I will not only gain more knowledge and learn new skills, rather, I will also bring to pass the dreams I always wanted to achieve.During my childhood, I was obsessed with science specifically on electronics. I always wondered how electronic parts operate. I can tell there was something like a puzzle behind every electrical tool which led me to be passionate about engineering. As I grew up, my curiosity caused me to study more about my interests and now, I have discovered and have become aware about the aspects of scientific theories applied in the real world.
One important part of my journey toward my goals started in Australia. I applied to University of Technology Sydney (UTS) where I earned a diploma in engineering and science in 2010. My schooling at UTS helped me to develop a great understanding of the foundations of engineering. As my knowledge increased, my passion in Engineering became stronger therefore I decided to complete Electrical Engineering which has always been my inclination from the start as mentioned earlier. During my undergraduate program experience at [ ], my undertakings not only helped me learn the foundations of Electrical Engineering but they also facilitated me to engage in the field of Engineering.
In my core classes, I performed perfectly in most of them, bringing me to become more confident about abilities. In addition, I became independent in accomplishing magnificent progress in terms of project design.During the 2nd and 3rd years of my undergraduate program, I continuously enjoyed to put a decent effort in laboratories for long hours. This gave me the opportunity to learn more about electrical theories and apply them in the laboratory using the equipment available in the school. I have been in the Chair’s Honor Roll in spring 2012 and fall 2012 as a result of my outstanding success.
Moreover, I earned a GPA above 3.0. The undergraduate curriculum introduced me to a wide array of subjects and brought me to new thoughts and theoretical knowledge through courses such as Electric Networks, Control Systems, integrated Circuits, Alternative Energy, Micro Controllers, Logic Design, Mixed Signal VLSI, etc. During these years, I realized that it is the perfect time to apply my knowledge to complete a perfect senior design project. After four years of my undergraduate program I had a solid knowledge to deliver a competitive senior design project.
My senior design was influenced by my interest in the field of robotics. Robotics is relatively not a new field, but untethered control of them from remote locations has never been an easy feat. Nevertheless, achieving it gives a plethora of advantages. An example of this is the Unmanned Aerial Vehicles we see in military service whose most obvious advantage is perhaps human life preservation and or safety. It presents the opportunity for the individual to monitor and explore the environment without being introduced to bodily harm.
On a small scale, my project achieves these goals by allowing the user to control the motion of the robot via the internet at the same time obtaining real time video feedback from a robot on board the camera, streaming to the site. Moreover, my senior design was implemented using reconfigurable hardware, which improved my knowledge substantially in terms of software and hardware. The use of reconfigurable hardware FPGA (Field Programmable Gate Array) Evaluation Kit XUPV5-LX110t provides the flexibility and out of the box capability to implement such a system with ease.
The project fittingly presented an opportunity for me to learn about embedded system design concepts and to gain familiarity with reconfigurable hardware technology. In line with this, I have selected to complete my Masters degree at [ ] because the program addresses electrical questions regarding the levels of image processing, embedded systems and energy. I am specifically looking forward to such courses to give me strength in embedded systems. I believe that I will be able to contribute to and learn from the academically challenging environment at [ ].
