RESPONSE TO 4 POSTINGS Babatunde Sobanjo The appropriately tackles the issue of tests and scales by first giving a backgroundto the use of tests and scales and how and why they are used. There is also much information on how tests and scales are used to ascertain the validity of a piece of research work specifically, the writer writes on how tests and scales have been embedded with the of “predicting outcomes because they measure underlying traits of phenomena” (Frankfort-Nachmias & Nachmias, 2008). This approach taken by the writer gives a lot of confidence to the researcher who wants to use them that they will be offered a lot of advantages when they adapt this form of measurement (Gardener, 2009).

The writer presents his findings from an approach whereby he looks at how and why both validity and reliability can be determined by using basic tests and scales. Moreover, the combination of more than one scale at a time is highlighted (OConnor, 2011). This was an important aspect for the writer to have covered because clears researcher who may have some doubts with introducing new forms of scales with an existing scale they may be dealing with from their doubts (Gardener, 2009).

An important perspective of the writer’s work has to do with the fact that he stated off by taking more about the advantages of using scales. In this, he explains that scales are used to “resolve the complexity inherent in people’s behavior” (Frankfort-Nachmias and Nachmias, 2008, pp.422-424). By this, researchers get a first hand information as to the need for them to settle for one form of scale or the other. The writer could however elaborate more on the weaknesses of using specific scales so that researchers can be on the lookout for these weaknesses and address them appropriately in their research processes (Gardener, 2009, p. 232).

Much of the focus on the measurement of the validity with the use of scales was narrowed to the population that the researcher has to deal with. In this, the writer emphasized that the population is the accessible group of people that the researcher would have to be dealing with (Experiment Resource, 2011). By this, other researchers are offered an insight into how well to manipulate their populations to ensure that they achieve reliability and validity for each kind of scale that they choose (Gardener, 2009, p. 34).

...Response to three with two references for each Response to Thomas Darryl’s post Thomas Darryl’s post, ‘comparing quantitative methods,’ presents an overview of the methods. Thomas discusses survey, and experiments methods and elaborates on the scopes of the two methods in terms of their procedures. Even though I agree with the presented ideas, I hold the opinion that the post contravenes codes of professional writing because most of it is copied from the source without application of quotation marks and is not explorative according to existing literature (Creswell, 2003; Gropper, Smith and Groff, 2008; Vaus, 2002)....

...Response Dinesh Sah’s Post I believe that your first ment that ‘about three-fifths of the world practice democracy as their political governance system’ should be appropriately referenced. According to The Economist Intelligence Unit’s Index of Democracy 2010, “one-half of the world’s population now lives in a democracy of some sort” (Economic Intelligence Unit, 2010, p. 1). Regardless of the accuracy of the figures, your contentions of apparently diverse levels of understanding and comprehension on what constitutes democracy effectively provided the theoretical framework on the discussion regarding policy recommendations on climate action. Therefore, through the support of various articles on the...

...RESPONSE TO 3 Timothy Biles Even though the makes great effort to clearly the evolution of leadership showed by the leaders hesettled, one strong deficiency of the paper is that the student refuses to link the evolution of leadership of these leaders to their styles of leadership. Meanwhile, evolution of leadership is said to be greatly influenced by the style of leadership practiced by the leader (Grey, 2009). Even more, the writer shows no correspondents between the various leaders discussed and how each of them possessed a different leadership quality from the other (Almah, 2008). Worse of all, there was no reference list and a couple of grammatical...

...RESPONSE TO ESSAYS Babatunde Sobanjo The essay presented by the on levels of measurement and concept of validity was highly detailed and insightful. This is because the author did not narrow himself to only one measurement procedure but as many as four (4) (Frankfort-Nachmias & Nachmias, 2008). Out of the four also, there was conscious effort by the author to delve into all the aspects of the four approaches. This gave the essay much meaning and understanding (Farcao, 2003). ...RESPONSE TO 4 ASSIGNMENT POSTINGS Timothy Biles The develops a very strong point by distinguishing between what an organizational change is and what a change in an organization that does not constitute organizational change also is (Frankfort-Nachmias and Nachmias, 2008). This is indeed a very strong elaborative point that helps the reader to appreciate the fact that in every organization, even though there may be some significant changes in how things are done, those changes may not necessarily be the constitute of an organizational change (Farcao, 2003). Though this could be seen as an issue that is far stretching from the topic, the writer linked this perfectly to a contemporary workplace scenario (quote).
