Admission Essay As part of my long-term career goal, I intend to establish a career in the local government as a public affairs research analyst. Inorder for me to pursue and make my professional plan a reality, I need to have a degree in political science since taking this course will enable me to gain knowledge with regards to the processes, principles, and structure on how the government and political institutions are interrelated with one another. Public policies are referring to the course of action that is taken by the state in order to develop and implement regulatory measures and laws that will guide the people in knowing what is legally acceptable and not.

Since the role and responsibilities of a public affairs research analyst includes analyzing and creating a general program on state legislative issues that will help support the entire State and Local government affairs, it is crucial on my part to have a good insight with regards to how public policies are being created. To enable me achieve my professional goal, I intend to work in the local government as a researcher on government-related affairs. Having at least one or two years of work experience in this field will increase my internet research skills which is necessary in keeping myself updated with the current political issues that is going on in our country.

Aside from strengthening my oral and written communication skills, taking the job as a researcher will allow me to become more familiar with regards to the process behind the state legislative regulations.Back in 1951, six European states came into an economic agreement forming the European Union (EU). Today, there are 27 countries across European continent as members of the EU (Central Intelligence Agency). These countries include: Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, and UK (ibid).

Given that the concept of integrating the socio-economic and political activities of 27 countries into a single body is new, the European Union is going through a trial and errors process in order for them to be able to establish a single policy that will effectively work well for all members of the union. As a nation, political groups are expected to create balance and harmony between socio-economic rights and civil rights of the local citizens. I it understandable that establishing a single political group is necessary in terms of effectively managing all countries that had agreed to become a member of the European Union.

With regards to the issue on socio-economic and civil rights of the people, I am interested in knowing how the European Union will be able to strengthen and make important decisions other than establishing a single Commission, a single Council of Ministers, and a single European Parliament. We are moving in the era of globalization. Since globalization focuses on integrating people, companies, and governments through the use of information technology, it is not impossible for other countries to decide to form a single union similar to the economic strategy that was taken by the European Union.

Considering in mind that history repeats itself, it is a good step for me to take into consideration learning the political development behind the European Union.*** End ***Reference"Central Intelligence Agency." 2010. Introduction: European Union. 2 November 2010 .
