Story of My Pet Dog Dogs, cats, birds etc are some of the favorite pet animals many people like to have in their home. Even from my childhood, I had the habit of keeping pet animals at my home. I had cats, dogs and different kinds of birds apart from fishes in my aquarium. Even though, I had the experience of close relationships with so many pet animals, one particular dog which we called blacky attracted me lot because of its immense intelligence, courage and loyalty. I would like to describe some touching stories about blacky in this paper, in order to prove the intimacy and loyalty dogs have with their masters. The dog in this story was black in color. We call him with the name Blacky since it was black in color. Blacky was from the dash breed and it was a loving dog not only for everybody in our home but even for our neighbors also. I played and slept with balcky when he was young. I have given him much training and on every morning it was Blacky who brought news papers to us from the gate of our home. Every morning he waits in front of our home till the news paper boy arrives and collects the news paper from the newspaper boy. I purchased blacky when he was only one month old from a pet shot. Within one week from the purchase, he established company with all of us in our home. He started to show some deep relationship with me and accompany me wherever I go around my home. Moreover, he always waits for me at the gate if I went out to town for some purchasing needs. During night time Blacky will never sleep and guard our home from intruders keeping a vigilant eye on every corner of our home and its surroundings. There are many stories associated with blacky which shows his bravery and loyalty to us. In this paper I would like to describe two incidents in which we blacky shows his intimacy and bravery. After my school studies, I decided to continue my college studies in a distant college. We made all the preparations for my journey and blacky was a silent witness to all these preparations. When I prepare my bags for the journey, he stationed near me with a sad face and often wagged his tail whenever I look at him. I realized that balcky was so sad about my journey. When I was about to leave to the airport, I called blacky towards me. He slowly approached me and I had seen his ears filled with tears even though he was kept on wagging his tail. I told him that I will be back within few months and he wagged his tail more rapidly as if he understood everything. My mum and dad accompanied me till airport in order to send off me to the distant place. The airport was around four kilometers away from my home. It was only 120 minutes drive from our home and we reached there well before the departure time of my flight. Some of my friends agreed to come to airport in order to send me off to the distant place and we waited for them at the waiting area outside the airport. After few minutes my friends also came there and we exchanged greetings and spend around ten minutes there. The airport authorities announced the departure of my plane within another two hours and asked the passengers to proceed for the check in. When I was about to proceed for the check in, I saw a black dog rapidly approaching the airport from a distant place. I waited for a moment and it came near to me and for the utmost surprise of all of us, it was my beloved blacky. He was so tired after travelling around four kilometers and we all surprised because we don’t had a clue, how blacky located the airport. I was aware that dogs have the immense ability of smelling objects and identifying it even after years. But still, even now it is unimaginable for me to think that a dog travelled four kilometers with the help of smell and reached the destination without many problems. Blacky was also a brave dog. He was always keen in protecting us from external threats. As mentioned earlier, it never sleeps in the night time and always run around our home to see whether any intruders are there. One midnight when all of us were sleeping, we heard the barking of balcky. Normally blacky barks whenever he sees some thing strange. But such barking will last for few moments only. But on that particular night Blacky started to bark continuously and I realized that there is some thing strange. I opened the door and went out with a torch light. I had seen Blacky running around some thing at a place near the back door of our home. I slowly approached blacky and have seen a cobra trying escape from the hands of blacky. Blacky was so clever that he kept a substantial distance from the cobra so that the attacks form the cobra has not affected him. This cobra was trying to enter our home through ventilation at the back of our home. Blacky noticed it and blocked the cobra. It has gone away from that place only after I killed the cobra. Blcaky was a loyal and intelligent dog which exhibited courage and loyalty whenever he got an opportunity to express it. It was surprising to see that an animal like a dog was able to establish close intimacy with human even when humans were failed to establish sincere and close relationships between them. Moreover, the smelling capacity of blacky was so deep that he was able to identify objects even after weeks and months once he was able to smell it. In short, the smelling abilities and loyalty of dogs towards its master is beyond words to express. Read More
