However, on moving ahead with the research I realized the amount of hard work research work would demand. The preparation of research proposal was also difficult as this was the first time that I did such extensive research for a particular topic to ensure that I stay within the scope of the research I set before me and at the same time meet the requirements of the university. Before conducting the research studying deeply the different research categories like explanatory research descriptive research as well as exploratory research gave me an insight into which kind of research category to use in which situation.

This was useful as it allowed me to understand the pros and cons of different research strategies like action research, grounded theory, surveys, etc. in order to decide upon the most suitable research strategy for my dissertation. It was through this process that I was able to develop an analytical frame of mind that helped me to quickly overcome the problems that I faced in conducting the research. I had to change my plan from conducting face to face interview to survey questionnaire because of the unavailability of responsible marketing / operations heads despite of calling 50 hotels for scheduling interview.

Even designing the survey questionnaire was not easy and the data collected through this method was scrutinized by the supervisor for its limitations to ensure the objectiveness of the research is maintained at all times. The presentation of findings and analysis required use of different tools which I had to learn during the course of the research. The structure of the dissertation was also considered to be an important element of my research. I had to look at examples how a good dissertation needs to be written.

The work flow should be in such a way that it covers different aspects of the research for better understanding of its users. The writing was built upon strong objectives and research questions which
