He also is very careful to make notes that are informative about the case and not judgmental. This sometimes is difficult because some of the offenders act as thought they have done nothing wrong. He must use his patience and communication skills in order to get through to some of the men he deals with on an average day.
In terms of activities, he said that he is in counseling sessions throughout the day and the only thing he really gets to do is take a lunch. He does answer phone calls and emails between sessions so that he does not get behind. He often reviews his cases and sometimes he will have to provide reports to a probation officer or to the courts as to the progress that his clients have made. Another thing he pointed out was that a lot of the people who come to his office have been referred there by an agency. History wk 11

...? History Week 11 When I think about post-modern psychology, I think about what the textbook said in terms of how everyone is looking at society through the eyes of their own social constructions. What I take this to mean is that we are all living in situations where we see the world in particular way. We have learned to see the world via what our parents have taught us and what other people in our environment have taught us. We also get to a place where we design our own interesting ideas of what the world looks like to us. I think that post-modern psychology encourages many movements that began throughout the ages, because people began to ask themselves questions about who they were and their purpose of life. This meant...

...?Hum WK 12 Assignment I believe that a scholar practitioner must understand how people are motivated or not motivated in their lives. There are a number of ways that we have learned about motivation that I would not have thought about before I took this course. As an example, Reeve (2009) talked about the fact that people had to be engaged in a task in order for them to carry it through. Although I know this about myself, I did not really think about it in terms of everyone being engaged in something. I do see that my kids do better in school when the teacher totally engages them in their learning. When I say this, I mean that the teacher helps them learn through their learning style and keeps them excited about learning....

...Article Review Every single day, one is bombarded with myriad numbers of information. Some of them hold grains of truth, some has truth embedded in them and waiting to be uncovered, while the rest are really just fallacies and false claims hidden in a façade. This poses a challenge to the psychologist, and he should be knowledgeable about the ways to handle information with a sieve so that he can validate the truthfulness before taking them in and imprinting then in his system. Skepticism, although it brings about a connotation of negativism and being narrow-minded, is really about questioning the authenticity of something regarded as fact, and this perspective should be adapted and not disregarded if one aspires to grow...
