Extract of sample "The Best Way of Avoiding Plagiarism"

In our life, we continuously absorb other people's ideas. While talking to other people we hear their ideas or while reading a magazine, book, newspaper, or any other source of written text or information, we continuously take ideas and thoughts of other people. Now presenting these ideas without giving credit to other people is what is called plagiarism (Free Talking Topics Vol. 1 for Advanced Students Topic 19; Plagiarism: What It is and How to Recognize and Avoid It). Plagiarism is presenting others' ideas, written text, plots, diagrams, and intellectual property as being their original work (by someone) without properly acknowledging or giving the source of the information presented.

It is considered a serious offense in the academic areas and students found doing plagiarism can face severe punishment. It can be from a failing grade in an assignment to a failing grade in that particular course. In the worst case repeated plagiarism by the students, can lead to suspension/expulsion or revoking of degrees and awards.
