1A. January 16, 2008 An old neighbor said something offending to my friend. I wanted to reprimand him on what he had done but I cannot confront him for his mistake because I was afraid to engage in an argument with him and because he was older than me.January 18, 2008 My cousin whom I have just met for the first time came for a visit and stayed overnight in our house. On the last day of her stay, I saw one of my books in her bag. I asked her if she wanted to borrow the book and she replied that she forgot to tell me that she wanted to borrow the book.

I felt a bit offended that she had put the book in her bag before asking me for it but I had no chance to tell her that she should not do that again but she had to go and I thought that I just met her and don’t know her that well.January 20, 2008 I keep my daily journal in my drawer and I allow nobody to neither open the drawer nor read the journal. We have a housekeeper coming over twice a week and I didn’t allow her to enter my room since I keep my room clean myself. This afternoon, she was allowed by my mother to check my room for cleaning and the housekeeper opened all the drawers including the one where I keep my journal.

I knew she opened the drawer because the pen tucked in the journal rolled out to the side of the drawer. I asked her if she went in my room and even before she said yes I interrupted her and told her to please not to go through my drawers the next time.January 22, 2008 My best friend spent the night over at our house and she was flipping through my magazines. She probably got bored with them and she found the drawer where I keep my journal. I was coming out from the bathroom and I saw her opening the drawer.

I told her not to open that drawer again because I was keeping my journal there. I also told her that I don’t want anyone to touch my journal since I was not comfortable when people touch my personal stuff. January 23, 2008 I was having a hard time comprehending the day’s lecture in class which prompted me to ask a guy classmate. Another classmate, a girl, interrupted and tried to explain on the topic but instead of helping me, she only added to my confusion. After her explanation, my guy classmate gave his explanation which was better and entirely different from the explanation of my girl classmate.

I wanted to tell her about her mistake but I hesitated because I was worried that she might get offended.January 25, 2008 At school when my best friend and I were walking at the hall, a new friend asked me to a party but he told me that I was the only one invited and that I was not allowed to bring anyone else. I politely refused his invitation telling him that I already have plans on the day of the party. I found it rude to invite me in front of someone who was not to be invited. I didn’t tell him that what he did was wrong thinking he was just a new friend.

January 26, 2008 I was not informed that my aunt was coming to visit us. A friend and I were coming home from school and we saw the front door slightly ajar. We were worried thinking that someone might have broken in our house. We went inside and we heard footsteps in the room upstairs. We both checked on the noise and we were relieved to see that it was only my aunt. I cannot tell her that she should have not left the front door open because I was afraid that she would get mad at me. 1B. I observed that the “I can’t confront people when they make mistakes” behavior manifests when I don’t know the person well and when the person is older than me as evident in the dates January 16, 20, 23, 25 and 26.

The behavior is not performed when I know the person well which in this case is my best friend as evident in the January 22 entry of the journal. One instance when the “I can’t confront people when they make mistakes” behavior was performed along with another “I can’t” behavior was on January 20 entry. The “I can’t confront people when they make mistakes” was performed along with the “I can’t stop from cutting in on other people as they speak” when I interrupted the housekeeper as she was speaking and I didn’t tell her that she made a mistake when she opened the drawer without my consent.2A. 1.

My mother can tell other people their mistakes but she does not cause them to be offended. She would tell them the possible consequences of their mistakes and she tells them in a mild manner that seems to be effective on people. An example would be the instance when she told my cousin that he should stop staying out late because he always comes late in class. She told him that if he would continue staying out late he would disappoint a lot of people and he could get himself expelled from school.

My cousin heeded my mother’s advice and later on thanked her for the advice.2. An uncle of mine works as a social worker and he befriends teens who have run away from their home before he tells them that running away from home was a big mistake. After he befriends them, he can easily converse with them and shows them why they made a mistake after which he advices them to go back home. After a while the teens would call him at the center and they would thank him then asks for his advice.3. My former teacher points out the mistakes of her students by telling a story in class.

She uses the student as the character but she doesn’t specifically mention the name of the student. She would include in her story things that should have been done and things that can be done to correct the mistake of the student.4. Our Church minister would use examples in the Bible to correct the mistakes of churchgoers. He would always tell us he must reprimand those who make mistakes to show that his concern and love for us. He uses Bible passages and relates them to life situations which effectively teach members who made mistakes and serves as warning to other members.2B. 1.

An old lady from our neighborhood always gives out criticism to other people who make mistakes. On one instance, she confronted a younger lady from our neighborhood because the younger lady’s child was always crying late at night. Instead of giving the appropriate advice for the younger lady, the old lady started to nag at her then ended up in a fight and leaving the problem unresolved.2. My childhood friend had an argument with his girlfriend because she spent her money on an expensive dress since he wanted his girlfriend to save her money for their trip.

He scolded at his girlfriend to make her realize her mistake and his girlfriend fought back. They ended up shouting at each other at the mall’s parking lot.3. Two of my aunts are not speaking with each other until today. My older aunt confronted my younger aunt about her husband. She criticized my younger aunt’s husband because the husband was unemployed for quite sometime and had gambling problems. My younger aunt was offended because the confrontation happened during a family gathering.4. A former classmate wrote a letter to my best friend telling her that she should stop from being too bossy at class.

My friend got mad at our classmate saying that our classmate could have told her in a milder manner than the way it was said in the letter.
