Critical Thinking The problems encountered in work setting and work place will be of different type depending on different situations; nature of work and situation, circumstances and place of work, person facing the problem and people around him. The strategies that were adopted to solve the problems originate from the necessity the person faces. It can be said, "necessity is the mother of invention" in these cases. If the person is a fresher or beginner, he adopts the strategies that were not familiar to him, which are a piece of creative thinking in his mind and those arise from the necessity of the situation. When he was experienced the creativity decreases, which makes him apply his known and time tested strategies and techniques he found successful. This is in general but not be certainly
Critical Thinking
Work setting depends upon nature of work and work place. If the nature of work is individual one has enough free hand to set it according to his convenience. For instance, a teacher in a school can work according to his own plan and setting regarding his duties in class room and correction of Answer sheets. But in the case of a marketing executive it depends on his superiors, subordinates and the clients he has to meet and melt. When it comes to the work in a back office it depends on the work culture of that office and the nature and pace of doing work of his colleagues. The situation is different in case of front office. There, the work setting depends upon the people they meet and talk. All the aforesaid cases are the instances of subordinate services.
If one has to lead a team (smaller or bigger) he has to plan every thing in advance and must be able to guide his team mates. Here the work setting needs a good home work, alertness and planning. When one member abstains from work or will take leave, the work setting depends on the team leader. When he was able to allot the work of the abstained person to the remaining team mates he should take care that there are no regrets and grievances. That affects the quality of work. Being ready to take any responsibility regarding his team, makes a team leader an efficient and successful in-charge of his team.
Another type of problems arise from non-cooperation of colleagues and other members at the work place. Generally these problems arise due to inactiveness or ignorance of superiors. If the top level works in a right way the lower strata cannot show negligence regarding work. Here the correspondence with superiors plays the key role. The correct way of communicating the problem to the superior makes the things set right. This should not be in a manner of complaining on others and colleagues. It makes the work place a hell for the person taking responsibility. The conveyance of the problems that are faced by the employees to the superiors in a responsible manner can make the things move in a right way. Generally misunderstanding of the persons on the others causes the problems of non cooperation. So maintaining good rapport with others in the work place is necessary to make our work setting free of obstacles. For the superiors or the managers, it is necessary to see that their team moves united.
Often the work setting will not be according to our expectations. One has to set his time and plan according to the demand of the situation. When one is attending for a regular work and a part time business, he/she must make use of time management. As it is not possible to increase the number of hours in a day, the work setting must be according to our capacity to do and think on it. Now and then one can go for extra mile and work for more time, but doing it continuously will bring a negative effect on his creativity and the quality of work. As there is no chance to change or modify the regular work, one has to set the part time work according to the time available to him. In the modern day work culture when one is attending on more than one work or a job there is no other way than to spend more time on doing work by taking minimum rest that is necessary.
Working at managerial level can make one increase his working hours to clear the problems he faces in his work setting. The lower strata employees do not feel happy to work for more time without being paid. Here one has to make that extra payment by increasing the productivity of the work. Read More
