Yet they were sick and not in their right mind and were asking for it to be done. This of course is quite obvious that you should trust the person when they were in their right mind instead of how they are in their current condition.
This of course would only be one possible situation in which it would be for the betterment of a person’s autonomy to not listen to them. And while it may seem like an oxymoron for it to be better for a person to not listen to them, when health is involved it is always important to trust what you know the person said or did or agreed to when they were in their right mind.
In other words, yes there are several times when it is in the best interest of a person to not listen to them, as hard as it might be and even if you think you maybe should do otherwise.
