The main feature of Gillette is that it is having five-blade frontage technologies.Even though Gillette is having brand loyalty among the consumers, still it is facing healthy competition from rivalries. The fact behind this is none other than the expensive price tags that Gillette products come with, as compared to other products. Despite being one of the leading companies in the industry, they are facing competition. The following are the leading competitors of Gillette fusion razor:1. Alberto-Culver2. Avon3. Colgate-Palmolive4. Dial5. Estee Lauder6.

Johnson & Johnson7. Le' Oreal8. Mary Kay9. Procter & Gamble10. Revlon(Profile: Gillette Proctor and Gamble. 2004-2005).Target MarketsThe Gillette Fusion razor is a new product from Gillette. This product is an advanced electrical five-bladed product. The targeted market of the product is as follows.Primary Market The primary market for Gillette is basically the wholesale distributors in the market. The distributors are the first purchaser of the product. There is a direct relation between the producer and the distributor.

Secondary marketThe secondary market is the second stage in the movement of a product in the market. The secondary market represents the retailers of the product. The consumers normally buy the product from the secondary market. Current marketing strategies"A globally focused consumer products company that seeks competitive advantage in quality, value-added personal care, and personal use products." (The Gillette Company). The following are the current marketing strategies of Gillette. 1) Increased quality: this strategy of Gillette states that the company is not interested in making profits at the cost of quality.

Quality improvement is the primary strategy of Gillette. This has been one element that has made it one of the most popular brands. The company is really aware of the adverse effects of supplying low-quality products. 2) Value-added personal care: Another major strategy of Gillette is the supply of value-added products. Value-added products can be introduced in the market only when necessary research has been carried out for producing new products with advanced technology. The new Gillette Fusion Razor is a result of vast research that is necessary to identify the market trends and requirements.

The new product is expected to be able to carve for itself a good portion of the market share at present. 3) Focused advertising: Well focused advertising is another strategy of Gillette. The new advertising strategy is focused on only the targeted customers. The ads also are very appealing and designed in such a manner as to boost the macho image of men.
