Labor Mobility and Migration al Affiliation Labor mobility should be taken as an avenue to explore diverse career paths. At least, the opportunity should give each employer to pick the best available. Whether it is used by the employee, for personal development or the company, employer should always pick the best. There must be agreement on purpose, duration, content and reintegration to meet the security needs of the employee. It is of course an essential part in the business environment, to transfer staff and expertise. However, lack of co-determination rights of the employee can increase the likelihood of long-term dissatisfaction. For me, there is now a perceived contradiction between the assumed mobility of young workers and lack of initiative to involve the mobility option in their own career planning. Why is that? In order to engage in a stay abroad mentality, the employee must have certain characteristics to be a certain type. He must show, motivated, confident and optimistic approach to the new tasks initiative. The ability for reflection and abstraction let him also before long phases abroad conditional planning not shrink. So why so little initiative? My Op-Ed commits to be an eye opener to state governments, corporate managements, career developers, employees and employers, on what must be done to globalize and popularize labor mobility.
