Report to the presentation Report to the presentation A group presentation is an activity where members of a group describe, explains, and shows their findings before a group of people. However, team presentations can be challenging and needs a lot of considerations before the actual presentation. In order to impress your audience, the group members should carefully choose a good leader to lead the presentation. A good leader needs to define explicitly and present the content in a good tone and give an explanation of the message. The members would be in a position to support the team leader, and the presentation would be interesting too. From the two aspects, success is assured for your presentation (Tolley & Wood 2011). This paper, therefore, seeks to compare two group’s case studies for their presentations. For case study six presentations, the presentation is about the role of the government while case study seven, talks about Ethics and globalization. The paper seeks to compare case studies’ six and seven. For a well written report presentation, it is essential that the group members do a thorough research on the subject matter. The group members should, therefore, read lots of sources to gather information concerning the subject. The reason for this is because having the ability to present a subject area with confidence affects the audience directly. In turn, this gives the audience an impression that will capture their attention. For instance, for case study six, the topic the role of government is clear and readers can easily tell what the presentation is all about. Similarly, case study seven’s topic is also clear and easily communicates the information to its audience. For this reason, both groups have shown strength in explicitly making the subject matter of their presentations simple for the audience to have an idea of what is to be presented. Both case studies discuss ethical issues and leaves questions on how to solve the ethical issues. The aspect of researching for a simple and easily understandable subject is essential in capturing the audience’s attention. For both presentations, the members did a lot of research, and this could only be achieved through teamwork and a high level of cooperation (Tolley & Wood 2011). Teamwork and cooperation are vital components that ensure successful presentations, and this is portrayed in case studies one and seven. Another similarity between the case study six and seven is that they leave the reader with an open mind of making an ethical decision in solving the problem at hand. However, both case studies do not have thesis statements that are essential components of good presentation report. Presentations are developed with a purpose that must be clear despite their complexity. The purpose must first of all be kept in mind always with the members of the group. Once this is done, the presenting group would have little or no challenges when the audience poses questions after the presentation. In short, it generates a sense of ownership for that particular presentation. For case studies one and seven, the groups have a like-minded aspect in owning the presentation. For the audience, both presentations have a clear purpose whose determination can easily be arrived at a glance. For case study, seven, the topic Ethics and Globalization is a general topic that easily defines the presentation in the summary. Similarly, case study one shares the same approach (Tolley & Wood 2011). Both approaches are necessary for capturing the attention of the audience in these presentations. For both case study six and seven, the scripts are well organized and have a standard flow. Both reports have a clear visual impression in terms of structuring and script flow. For a standard script, the following components are important; the opening part of the presentation, the body, and the summary part. The first section of a good the presentation sets the stage on what will follow. Here, the purpose for the presentation is clearly stated in both presentations. In the opening part, a brief has been given and has a summary of points covered in the script, a feature seen in both presentations. The brief outline contributes a great deal to ensuring that the audience in both presentations gets an orientation on the agenda of the scripts. The second part of the presentation is essential since it carries the intended idea and the main points (Tolley & Wood 2011). From both presentations, the key points are emphasized, and the main ideas presented adequately. The audience can, therefore, have an easy time in having a full idea on what both groups are presenting. During any presentation, a problem may occur especially those that involve the audience. For the case of both presentations, these were no use of presentation aids. Suppose visual aids are used, they can get screwed up especially loud sounds that might deter the audience from listening to the presentation. From the two presentations, it is not easy to determine whether there was disruption during a presentation or not. However, for both case studies presentations, video links have been provided as a visual aid. Through the presentation process, loud sounds are a possibility of a disruption of the presentation. In the final summary, sessions for questions and answers are encouraged especially from the audience. From these case studies presentations, questions were posed well to the audience and the questions cover the entire content area. However, both case studies six and seven, the main point of focus is ethical and sanity issues. The ability to show that a team can work collaboratively in preparing a presentation is an important requirement (Tolley & Wood 2011). However, for a successful presentation, every member of the team should have a full participation in terms of contributing towards the presentations success. From both case studies, there was a strong team work from how the presentation was structured. Having a strong teamwork for both case studies presentations has resulted in a creative, open, and a free expression of both feelings and ideas. For this reason, it shows that there is evidence that there was teamwork in both case studies. The reason for this is seen in how the discussion questions are structured. For both case study six and seven, the questions cover the entire summary of the presentation. Another important evidence of teamwork is time management during both case presentations. From both case presentations, there is an effective use of time management technique that is essential for any presentation. The aspect of time management helps in meeting deadlines and completes the assigned task in a timely manner. On the other hand, the audience is also able to devote full attention to and have a full grasp of the presentation from the onset to the end. It is also evident that there was adequate preparation before this presentation was presented. Both presentations have provided its audience with a link showing where the information in the scripts was obtained (Tolley & Wood 2011). The sources used are relevant, and the audience is easily at a position to get the full information in details even after the presentation. In conclusion, it is worth mentioning the aspect of the script structure and organization. From both case presentations, the information is logical and interesting and that the audience can easily follow. However, a similarity they share is that both of them are trying to solve ethical and sanity issues at work places. Case study six presentations, the topic ‘the role of the government’ is restricted within a limited environment. Whereas for case study seven, ‘Ethics and Globalization’ seems to cover a wider scope equated to a global scale. It is, therefore, evident from both presentations a high level of clarity in the structure and the material organization has an interesting sequence that can be followed easily by the audience (Tolley & Wood 2011). About the content, they both look relevant and appealing to the point of view being persuasive. For this reason, there is evidence that there were adequate preparations into both contents and argument.
