At a low level, a health human being will be able to carry out one’s own activities, starting from the very basic ones like taking care of the family’s needs. At a higher level, one’s health status will affect the economic status of the nation. Health care is achieved by providing medical services to the people for the sake of maintaining and improving one’s mental and physical health (Zawacki , Bell and French R.). Due to the importance it bears, it is important for health care services to be subsidized so that they cab affordable to people of all classes and not just the well off.

The Affordable Health care Act was passed by congress and then signed in to law in 2010 on 23rd of March by President Obama (Garvin, 2013). There were various impacts that become notable and some of them are discussed under.The Act led to a significant reduction in the premium costs that would have otherwise been incurred by business owners at low level, families and individuals. This was made possible through the provision of tax relief which was as much as up to hundreds of dollars. According to the Act, there is commitment by the government to the America’s seniors through ensuring protection and preservation of medicare.

The Act also ensures promotion of the prevention, wellness of the public health. National prevention together with health promotion strategy is created as a result of the directions given by this Act (Gagliardi, 2006).
