The paper “Human Behavior in Organizations" is a pathetic example of a personal statement on human resources. One of the key ingredients to the success of organizations is the ability to manage people, who form the human resources for the organizations. Across various research findings on organizational behavior and effectiveness, people have been cited as the most important resources that any organizations can ever have (Mullins, 2005). This is because people have the ability to create and manage strategies and methods that need to be used in achieving the organization’s goals and objectives.

Successful managers are often those that understand how to manage people, ensuring that they create a conducive atmosphere where they are appreciated and motivated to perform to their best standards for the organization (Rao, 2010). In this case, the manager ensures that the welfare of all his workers is effectively taken care of in order to create and sustain their motivation in the business organization. In return, the motivated staff is always excited and own the system thus giving their ultimate best for its growth and success.

People management in the organization I worked forDuring my time in the organization, I was in charge of the human resources in the sales and marketing department. I always made sure that I understood my team members effectively, using emotional intelligence in handling them at various situations; for instance, I would often call them for a discussion whenever I realized that one had made a mistake. I knew that working with professionals requires that one understand that everyone can make a mistake, I didn’t have to show and vent my anger on them, most of them had to actually acknowledge that I had the best people management approaches.

According to my personal values, I always believe that people who meet the qualifications to work for an organization need to be respected and treated with integrity irrespective of the position one is holding (Glendon, 2007). In this case, I always called my team members for the periodical evaluation of the performance of the department. Such meetings were effective in ensuring that all the members gave their views and suggestions on the best way to achieve the set goals and objectives. As a manager, I realized that in the process of improving my intrapersonal and interpersonal skills, I will need to consider team building in cases I am dealing with members of a department in the same organization or any other I will work for.

Additionally, I have set to attend more seminars and conferences on the most effective ways of organizational management (Ritson & Marsden, 2003). I realize that in as much as giving people the chance to make their suggestions and opinions about management in the organization, there are levels that I ought to take charge and set the path. In this case, I need to learn how to draw clear lines between participative and delegating leadership. In doing this, I believe that I will be an effective leader, not only when it comes to organizational management, but also my own intrapersonal skills development.

Great leaders are those that understand how to create and lead others into the path that is deemed effective for the success of the organization. For this reason, I have set myself to keep learning and improving my leadership skills to outstanding and also for my organization.
