From a theoretical point of view, the behavior shown at work is the result of operant conditioning reinforced through punishment and rewards. Therefore, individuals’ behavior can be assessed well only if they are approached from various dimensions. It is interesting to note that people who gather at a public place are more likely to express their real traits when compared to those at workplace. I spent some time observing how the patients and staff at Miami Children’s Hospital behave in the hospital premises.

At the conference hall, I observe the parents or relatives of some patients attending Professor Juan Aqua’s orientation speech on ‘Childrens Medical Services Primary Care Program’ (CMS). He gives lectures on the significance of the program emphasizing on how the Miami Childrens Hospital Pediatric Care Center serves as a medical home for their child once enrolled in the Program. His old age and his low voice make it extremely difficult for audience to catch what he says. Evidently, he had this speech earlier perhaps for another batch, for he speaks to the audience as if they are already aware of the program.

The staffs at the venue show no special interest in the speech as they are familiar with each and every aspect of the CMC. People attending the talk have multiple responses. Some are interested to hear what the professor says whereas those sitting in the last rows look distracted. Obviously, they are happy to get the professor to lecture from the middle of the class in a much louder voice. They may pay better attention to the professor’s lectures, and answer his questions only if the professor delivers lectures in a louder voice in an interactive way.

Many of them remain unresponsive, waiting for their turn to move to the registration counter. The orientation program is mandatory for enrolment. However, there are a few parents who take notes of each
