With the resources and innate enthusiasm to be of service to his local community, he allegedly established several business ventures, confirming his entrepreneur status. From among the business ventures that he opened, the following were noted: Living Legend Security Agency, MP Towers, Princess Digital Printing Solutions, Jinkee’s Fashion World, and Blugre Coffee, which all form part of his Manny Pacquiao Group of Companies (Manny Pacquiao Group of Companies).

Based on testimonies from his colleagues and friends, it was revealed that Manny Pacquiao exuded personality traits that are manifested along with other top entrepreneurs in the Philippines. These traits include (1) genuine and innate interest and passion for what they do; (2) acknowledging that formal education is not the crucial element for their success; (3) sharing a commonality to failure; (4) being hard workers; (5) exuding persistence, dedication, and commitment to their craft; and (6) taking time to savor and fulfill the fruits of their endeavors (Bui). Aside from these traits, it was repeatedly heard from a narrative description of Pacquiao that despite his success as a boxer, “he does not brag about his wealth and achievements. Despite his status right now, he remains humble, God-fearing, and respectful to his opponents and fans” (Solee par. 2).

Comparing one’s traits and characteristics with Manny Pacquiao’s, there are similarities and differences. The business ventures that Pacquiao opened, were in different industries such as printing, security, fashion, and even a coffee shop. Apparently, due to the amount of extensive capital and a host of colleagues who could offer their professional assistance in running these businesses, on his behalf, he could afford to venture into different areas.

One believes that there should be a focus or thrust or a specialization where one’s competitive advantage could be shown to surpass those of the competitors. Since Pacquiao’s main source of wealth is his boxing career, his entrepreneurship ventures come as a natural course as a means to invest his fortune. From one’s perspective, one plan to make a personal and professional entrepreneurial venture in one area of specialization to be the source of progress, productivity, and future success. Read More
