Download file to see previous pages Before we move on to how it is beneficial for everyone, even though it is perceived negatively by a large number of people and is one of their biggest fears, we need to discuss the different kinds of changes and the reason behind them.

An organization can go through a structural change. This can be due to a takeover or a complete change of management. In this type of change, the way of working and many dimensions of business activity is altered. This move is usually towards modernization and staying up with the pace but is too fast and sudden, and thus hard for the stakeholders to adjust with. Then there is a change brought about by the change in the services or goods produced and provided. This is usually a positive change and is considered a kind of expansion or progress. For a business to survive in the market of today, they need to continuously innovate and come up with new products to satisfy the ever-changing requirements of the customer and the client force. This is also a huge change because it usually means more burden of work or the addition of members to the existing corporate family (Green). On the other hand, there is a change due to the shutting down of some existing activity. This is a very common form of change in today’s economic downturn. This is the kind of change that has created job insecurity amongst many workers. However, these negative changes are not as negative as they are portrayed and the right type of managerial actions can curb the harmful effects these might have. For instance, worker insecurity can be very well dealt with proper counseling and involvement of workers in decision making.

Apart from these there are also changes brought about in the corporate culture of an organization. The organizational culture determines the way work and duties are carried out, the amount of understanding between the employees, employee-management relations, the motivational level of workers and many other factors.    ...Download file to see next pagesRead More
