Introduction Organizational behavior in hospitality industry can be considered as behavior of group of individuals within a particular hospitality organization. It deals with the study of human behavior to provide excellent service to the guest. It is a multidisciplinary arena that is concerned for understanding the organizational dynamics, interactive processes and behavior of group of people or individual. This essay will discuss about a person who motivated me to thrive in my life.
Discussion
The hospitality industry is a billion dollar industry, which consists of broad category of fields that mainly depends upon nonrefundable income and accessibility of leisure time. Several categories of fields include tourism industry, lodging, cruise line, theme parks and transportation. I have participated for internship program in the hospitality industry. I am highly obliged to internship project manager. I would like to provide special thanks and express my gratitude towards the project manager for motivating me to go for excellence. Every intern is new to the industry and is hungry for success. There is always a person who motivates to accomplish in life. This is the person who encouraged me in the entire internship program. The effect of affectionate encouragement and motivation on my life was humongous. The pivotal aim of the program is to participate at the hotel meetings and gain experience to different areas of the hotel. The volume of professional is articulated by the organization behavior of the hospitality industry. Regular meeting and discussion with project manager helped me to build on complementary flaws and strengths. Weekly check- in meetings exceedingly benefited me to have an ongoing discussion to nullify the flaws and enrich the strengths.
Time devoted by project manager provided me an opportunity to prosper on the hospitality industry. The appreciation shown by the manager boosted my commitment towards nurturing organizational skills. Teamwork, standard of procedure and service are the pivotal element in the hospitality industry. The effective management of the employees in the hospitality industry can be managed by focusing on building confidence, team building and handling stress. Internship project manager provided a practical example of understand behavior of guests and enhancing the decision making process. The manager provided me opportunity to experience the hospitality industry by live examples, case study and weekly discussion. This process of learning motivated me to enhance the relationship with the project manager and created a progressive impact on my life.
The productivity of an organization can be amplified by the motivated employees and their commitment towards the work. Frequent recognition and effective communication can help to motivate employees. Happy environment, clear direction, acknowledgement in public, two-way communication, personal thanks and sense of ownership are the following ways that can motivate employees. The lessons learned from project manager provides an effective solution that effective communication, training, personal development can ensure staff to be motivated. Employee working in the industry must feel that they are valued and respected.
Conclusion
Organization behavior is a scientific approach which enables to create more efficient business organization. It is significant for every manager to create a work culture and environment that can help employee to foster engagement and motivation. The lesson learned from the project manager motivated me to accomplish my work goals. This resembles the fact that effective communication and making employees feel respected are on high list of priorities that should be executed to drive business forward.
