He is also the chairman of Four Season Hotels and Resorts which is a chain of five star luxury hotels, having its name in the list of Fortune 100.
Isadore Sharp founded this company a long time ago in 1961 with a vision of operating a successful chain of five star luxurious hotels and providing quality services. His sparkling ideas about hospitality management revolutionized the hospitality management industry and since the inception of Four Season Hotels and Resorts, this industry has entered into a new era of revolution.
Changes that Isadore Sharp Brought
Hospitality management is known as the oldest services provided by human beings. The industry was replacing its older ways with newer techniques and ideas slowly and gradually; however, Isadore Sharp’s ideas brought a drastic change in this industry that are:
Isadore Sharp changed the conventional idea of hospitality with his new thoughts, like if people are treated the way you want to be treated, they will treat you the same.
Before Isadore’s era, medium sized hotels were not that lavish and weren’t also rendering exceptional services. However, Isadore helped changing this mindset that exceptional services can only be rendered by large hotels. Therefore, since then, medium sized hotels and resorts are also trying to provide exceptional services and thus, increasing their customer base and revenue.
Isadore, by his ideas of exceptional services bought another change in the industry that people should always get the same level of satisfaction from the hotel. Therefore, hotels and resorts have to keep maintaining their short term and long term strategies all over the year.
Principles of Isadore’s Business
The principles on which Isadore established the chain of Four Season hotels and resorts are as follows:
Home like environment and comfort is what the hotels should provide its customers(Sharp).
Let the hotel become a brand name. Make it so popular and distinguished by rendering exceptional services that people go nowhere, except there.
The culture of the company is based on a golden principle of ‘Treat others as you wish to be treated’
The company, Four Season Hotels and Resorts, does not own most of their properties. The company has contract with real estate owners that they run their hotels with near total control(Segal).
Products and Services of Four Season Hotels and Resorts
The products and services of Four Season Hotels and Resorts form a wide range; some that are worth-mentioning are highlighted:
The prime service of Four Season Hotels and Resorts is of five star luxurious hotel chain with large spacious rooms for the visitors to stay
The chains of Four Season also render wedding arrangement/planning services for their valued customers
Meetings and events are also being arranged by Four Season hotels and resorts
Gift card is another incomparable and unique service provided by Four Season to their customer. It helps one to buy a gift card for their loved ones, which is redeemable worldwide at any Four Season hotel for overnight stay, dining experiences, spa treatment and other services that are availed.
