I am curious about environmental issues and in particular, the UAE trend to become green (non, 1990). The aim of this study is also to sensitize investors and the general public on this new trend who will also be the beneficiaries of the project. The expected outcome of this project is to sensitize individuals and organizations on the greening initiatives and give them ways of contributing to these initiatives.
The United Arabs Emirates has started its journey to go green through many initiatives. Among the initiative is the launch of “A green economy for sustainable development” by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Prime Minister and Vice-President of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai in the year 2012 (Khaleg Times, 2013). UAE aims to become a model of the new green economy in order to preserve the environment for future generations and in order to enhance the development of the country. Some of the advancements done in the UAE include; the production of renewable energy and related technologies that will promote the use of clean fuel for energy production; building of the green city which aims at coming up with policies that raise the efficiency of buildings and housing; and encouraging a green life against wastage (LOW, 2012).

3. Proposal
3.1 Research Questions
The general objective of this project is to contribute to the world’s goal of going green. This general objective can be broken down into five more specific objectives in the form of research questions that would together help in achieving the overall goal of this project.

The research objectives include;
a) To analyze peoples' concerns about global warming.
b) To analyze the reasons behind the establishment of greening initiatives in the UAE.
c) To analyze the efforts that people in UAE have made in the green city journey.
d) To analyze how efforts towards greening initiatives have contributed to a green economy in UAE through renewable energy.
e) To analyze how people will benefit from a green economy.
f) To find out challenges that can be faced by people and when implementing this initiative project and how the challenges can be dealt with.

3.2 Research Methodology
The method that will be used to collect data in this study will include;
3.2.1 Questionnaires
Where possible, a questionnaire containing closed-ended questions will be given randomly to individuals. I will develop the questionnaire with the guidance of the lecturer who will review and approve the questionnaire. This review and approval are crucial because the questionnaires need to give a good picture of the institution. The intended study group is twenty people. This method will increase the uniformity of data collected which is crucial in making comparisons at the analysis stage of the project. This method will also increase the chances of getting huge amounts of data because respondents will be encouraged to get involved in the survey for its anonymity.

3.2.2 Interviews
Those people who will be interviewed will be the same people who will be involved in filling out questionnaires. This means that the number of people will be twenty. This aims at saving time that would have been taken to administer questionnaires and conduct the interviews.
3.2.3 On-line Surveys
Online surveys on the subject will be gathered to look at other studies conducted relating to the subject. This will be through the University website where a target of 20 people will complete a questionnaire online. However, this will depend on the approval from the university’s IT department to conduct the survey.
3.2.4 Books, E-newspapers, and Published Articles
Books, E-newspapers like CNN, and published articles will be used to collect secondary data will be collected which will be useful in analyzing the data collected.

4. Problems and Limitations:
In the process of doing the project, a number of challenges are expected to arise. One problem that is expected is resistance from the study group to be involved in the study. Respondents may not be willing to be interviewed with the fear that this will affect them negatively in the future. To be able to improve the willingness of the study group, I intend to increase the confidence of the study group.

The second problem that may arise during the formation of the project is inaccurate data as a result of incomplete questionnaires. To overcome this problem, I intend to formulate questionnaires that have clear instructions, one of them being for respondents to complete all the questions.
The third problem expected is getting the target number of people to fill the online survey because people often get encouraged to participate in online surveys if there is an incentive like being entered to win a prize. To avoid this problem, consultations will be done before making the final decision to use this method.

5. Data Analysis
Once data have been collected, this will be analyzed using an excel program because it is easily accessible and easier to use. Data that has been analyzed will be presented in the form of charts and graphs. Read More
