Introduction The project management is process of managing different but interrelated activities. Additionally, the project management is used to effectively handle, control and stream line project activities. This report presents a detailed analysis of the project of winter themed event management. In this event our main task is to manage the activities of installation of an artificial ice rink. In this project we also need to manage and organize a concert. In this scenario we will manage and plan this overall project activity regarding ice rinks installation project. 2. The project Brief 2.1. Statement of Requirement This project is going to establish ice rinks regarding a winter theme event that is intended to promote a new holiday park. This event covers the following requirements: Installing ice rinks Managing concerts Arranging concert Controlling ice rinks and concerts based events 2.2. Scope The scope of this event covers offering the better management and support in arranging overall winter themed event in a new holiday park. Our team is going to arrange, manage and control the overall activities for the installation of the ice rinks and managing the concert at the park. In this scenario we are aimed at offering better services and opportunities to the public. This project is also aimed at offering effective management skills to overall activities of the project. 2.3. Strategy Our strategy is to effectively manage and complete the overall event within time and cost. In this scenario our strategy will be to not disturb the local residents during the project development. 2.4. Stakeholders The management of the new holiday park who is going to hold this event is main stakeholder of this event. After that our project management firm is also a stakeholder in this event. Most importantly public is a main stakeholder in this event. Since, the public will go to view and enjoy this event. 3. Risk Management This project can include a lot of risks. These risks can be of different types. Below I will outline some of main risks regarding this event and also suggest a mitigation policy: Cost Risks: In holding event at the new holiday park we can face risk regarding the overall project completion within allocated project budget. In this scenario if project takes more cost or time the overall project cost will increase that will lead toward the failure of overall project. To complete this project within allocated time we need to plan the overall resource in way that it could offer better control on overall project costing and resource consumption. Time Risks: In this project we can have time related risk. Thus, to mitigate this kind of risk we need to complete this project within allocated time and resources. For this task we need to plan the project in a better way. Thus, we will require paying more attention on WBS and project time plan. Technical Risks: In this project we can face critical technical risks. The main risk is about the installation of the ice rinks that can involve some technical complexity. In this regard we need to establish some back up technical plan to manage this type of risks. Social Risks: In this event establishment we can disturb to local public. To effectively manage the local public affairs we need to make a social committee that can consult and manage the social problems and risks those affect the project. 4. Project Planning 4.1. Start Up The project execution we will be started to meet the unchangeable project deadline on the mid nigh of 31-12-2010 as stated in the project plan. In this scenario ice rinks installation and contacting and arraign concerts will the main activities. Thus, we will start the project after detailed consultation and requirements analysis of the overall project. 5.2. Motivation and Leading the Team This project has a very critical deadline. Thus, we cannot change the plan. The main events we are going to arrange require effective project team participation and interest. In this scenario we will arrange a series of periodical meeting that will work like a platform to discuss problems faced by the project team members. In this way we will also be able to motivate project team associates. 5.3. Managing Time To effectively manage the time for this project we will use the critical path based method. In this scenario we will try to effectively control and streamline project tasks and activities. These all initiatives will help us in handling and managing the project time and cost related scenarios. 6. Project Control 6.1. Monitoring time, Cost and Quality For the effective project control we will develop a project evaluation and monitoring committee that will manage and control the tasks and activities of project. In addition, this project committee will establish a check on each of the project task and activity to effectively manage and complete the tasks. 6.2. Managing Change For the project change management we will establish criteria of documenting and assessing some of main aspects of the project. In this scenario we will document the main event and contracts and will take the confirmations from all main stakeholders of the project. In this regard we will try to manage the overall change in case of potential project change. 7. Project Reports Project reports are the main and fundamental criteria in managing and handling the project. Here we will establish criteria that will involve the reporting of all the main events and aspects of the project. This will involve the reporting the aspects of the project to the higher management and higher authorities of new holiday part. This will offer us confirmation and help in change management of all main areas of the project. 8. Project Close and Post Project Review The project closing and post review will take the feedback from all the stakeholders of the project. In this scenario we will confirm the successful completion of the project and its influence on different areas. We will manly review the cost and resource and their effective utilization to verify their better utilization. 9. Conclusion This report has presented a detailed analysis of main areas of the project management for the new holiday part’s winter themed event. This report has offered a contrivance overview of overall project activities and ways of their effective management in the course of overall project management life cycle. This report has outlined the project time and cost plan, major project management activities and risk management areas.
