To me, the article looks very positive and inspiring. Even though many more points could have been included, it is necessary to state that the writer has included the most major points that would make a great difference either in a team or in a business organization, or even in a government. It is a sensible, motivating article with many points to ponder over. There are not many negative impressions in the article. According to the article, complete discipline is necessary for any business or team to move forward, and the leader should stress at all times, that the moving forward is the most significant thing.

It is a bit difficult to agree with this point. Total discipline can also mean total obedience. The author at the beginning of the article says that the shared leadership means that all people thinking alike, all being responsible and working together on equal footing. Here he says that total discipline is necessary and important. This point does not gel with the rest of the article, because this point brings back the single leadership to whom the rest of the group is obedient. This creates a rather unsavory note.

To some extent, even personal accountability is out of place here. Personal accountability could be mentioned only in single leadership where the others are accountable to the leader. Here we are talking about shared leadership. All one can expect is the accountability to self, and not to the leader. By personal accountability, if the author means that all the members of the group should be accountable to the leader that is definitely different from the tone of the article. The implications of the article could be many.

The mutual trust and respect and shared goals are very important points in shared leadership which will go a long way in any organization, team or group. It is necessary to make a separate mention of the communication factor, which might not be as important as the other three; but it is the point that can create understanding, mutual respect, and trust. It is not possible to have them without communication. If people live in their own shells, and if one cannot make out what the other thinks, it is difficult for trust, respect or shared goals to develop.

Communication is the core point here, to improve relationships. If people live like islands, the situation will only create suspicion of one another. The author makes this point very pertinently. On the whole, it is a positive and inspiring article that could be applied to any organization with far-reaching effects.
