BIS2021 DATABASE MANAGEMENT SYSTEM Task Let's start with the definitions of the functional dependencies on the following table. Functional dependency (FD): The following assumptions are derived from the above diagram:1. The pointer with arrow head shows the dependent variable and the pointer with no arrow head shows the determinant variable.2. There are 3 functional dependencies as shown above in the diagram. After breaking all the functional dependencies we get the following structure:Table: 1 Table: 2 Table: 3The table 1 also has got the attribute called budget and salary- category so as to perform joining of all three and getting a associated query result.

1st Normal form:The attributes with multiple values needs to be broken down into atomic values. After First normal form the table looks as follows:Emp-idEmp-nameSalarySalary-CategoryProjectBudgetFunctionE9500Helen Drummond40K3Mars2TechnicianE9501Katerina Christou45K4Jupiter15DesignerE9501Katerina Christou45K4Venus15DesignerE9503Anne Freeman40K3Venus15ManagerE9503Anne Freeman40K3Jupiter15ConsultantE9503Anne Freeman40K3Mars2ConsultantE9507Alphonse Trieste50K5Mars2ManagerE9507Alphonse Trieste50K5Venus15DesignerE9508Swee Hor Tan45K4Venus15DesignerE9508Swee Hor Tan45K4Jupiter15Designer Change: The attribute Emp-name was multi valued previously but now it has been changed to single or atomic ones.

2nd Normal Form:It says that no non key attribute or its set should be partially dependent on a key attribute. We do not see such a scenario here in the above 3 tables.3rd Normal Form:It says that there must not be a transitive dependency between the attributes. There is no case as such here in the above 3 tables. Thus I can conclude that the tables are in normal form or normalized up to 3 NF.
