Booker T. Washington of Virginia and William Edward Burghardt DuBois of Massachusetts held two totally different methodologies with respect to the ideal route for African Americans to improve their circumstances. While their strategies may have varied, both of these men had a shared objective in the inspiration of the dark network. Booker T Washington was among the most significant African-American pioneers of his time. Conceived in Franklin County, Virginia in the mid-1850s, spent his youth in servitude.

Subsequent to growing up, Washington felt that conventional instruction was the ideal approach to improve his expectations for everyday comforts. Due to isolation, the accessibility of instruction for blacks was genuinely restricted. Accordingly, Washington ventured out to Hampton Institute, where he took mechanical training. At Hampton, he concentrated on mechanical or commonsense working aptitudes rather than the human sciences. As a result of his encounters at Hampton, Washington proceeded to turn into a teacher just as a supporter of mechanical instruction, establishing the Tuskegee Normal and Agricultural Institute.

He experienced childhood in a predominantly white condition, went to Fisk University as an undergrad, was the main African-American individual ever to win a doctoral certificate from Harvard, and was one of the authors of the National Association for the headway of minorities individuals. DuBois showed his political convictions through his contribution to the Niagara Movement, the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, and filled in as supervisor of The Crisis, a dark political magazine.

He felt that blacks ought to teach themselves in the liberal custom, similarly as whites. DuBois's approach was gotten well by other northern freemen. Not the same as Booker T.
