They further argue that those who are unable to add nothing to the truth continue complaining. In the dialogue of Crito – Socrates, Socrates upholds ethical life in all aspects. He can give up his life rather than compromising his ethics. Socrates believes that any wrongdoing ends up damaging the soul; therefore, any writing or argument should have only the truth. Crito, a rich friend of Socrates after bribing the jailers and developed means of Socrates to escape, Socrates does not abide by that.

He applies his reasoning, refused to escape because that was against his ethics, and that is not the truth. Unlike Crito who appeals to the popular opinion, Socrates holds on to doing right (Thomas et al, pg.14). He responded to Crito that one should abide by his agreements so long as they are just. He disagrees with escaping because it was against his agreement. Socrates had the ability to personify the laws and imagine their response. He gave short remarks that were ethical and right. In the end, he remains in Athens.

The dialogue of Crito and Socrates shows the classic trance of truth. Socrates what he holds as the truth is upheld despite the popular move to escape from Athens. This is based on the clear and simple as truth of Thomas and Turner.
