Literature remains the mirror on which society reflects itself and therefore takes a central position in the life of man. From time immemorial, literature icons have delivered quality works of diverse socioeconomic and political meanings. Contemporary literary works are the development of ancient works that began at the beginning of civilization. The most important thing to consider is the literary legacy that every generation has been inheriting. Among the great writers whose literary legacy lives with society is T. Coraghessan Boyle. A critical literary inquiry into his publishing life and thematic concerns set an outstanding standard in literary tools and the relevance of his works in everyday life. In-depth research in the literary world indicates that several authorships of today are a representation of T. Coraghessan Boyle’s ideas in terms of thematic analysis (Boyle 34-7). His works cover diversity in terms of geography and culture and this forms the basis of the most recent budding regional literary authors. In terms of themes, one would wonder if he had a vision of what would happen in the next fifty years from his youth period. A critical assessment of 21st-century literary authors, various themes highlighted is a reflection of T. Coraghessan Boyle’s works. Some of the themes that are commonly tackled include politics, poverty, and social inequality among others. Several works of this great literary author cover these themes across various continents in a way that one would think he had traveled to all parts of the world. This explains why most of the contemporary literary works look like has been borrowed from him.
Various genres of literature by contemporary authors address similar socio-economic and political issues as in the case of the several works of T. Coraghessan Boyle. He is known to have written novels like Budding Prospects (1984), a novel about a group of enterprising “farmers” with an unusual bumper crop of marijuana, and several other short stories Greasy Lake (1985).some of the features of the stories today include use of rhetoric tools to enhance the attention captivity of the literary works. Most authors today use Ethos, Pathos, and logos to boost the effect of their works on the emotional and psychology of the readers to their works (Waxler and Jean 56-9). This is a tool that T. Coraghessan Boyle used in most of his books and earned him several accolades and prices in the global literary platform. The present-time English Literature which is Classic and Modern is a fusion of ancient ideas and a borrowing from previously covered themes which basically revolves around the experience of man in society. The use of satire, imagination, and prose in writing by most contemporary literary authors is a clear reflection of T. Coraghessan Boyle’s outstanding creativity. A comparative literary review of the works of T. Coraghessan Boyle and modern literature artists shows how his creativity took him out of the category of witty, clever social satire and put him in another league that became the standard of measure by others. It is therefore clear that T. Coraghessan Boyle left a legacy that set the pace for many other writers as seen in the replica of his works in modern literary authors.
