The fear that these people bore became worsened when Ferdinand actually found realistic evidence to the reason behind their fear of ghosts. But in all this, Radcliff was filled with so much hope for the future and made this resounding in the words of the Madame, who also expressed hope in God, saying that with God all things are possible. For such women who had been going through constant torture and fear gripping moments in their lives, anything apart from a supernatural backing for them could be devastating. In all this, however, Radcliffe did not take away the element of factuality because upon all the hopes that were expressed, the reality was also faced and so it was expressed that “I will not attempt to persuade you that the existence of such spirits is impossible” (Radcliffe, 36). Indeed, it is only when we are bold enough to make our fears known to God that He gets a sense of urgency to our call. Lo and behold, Julia would later in the story return to that same castle but not in a mood of fear but victory over her enemies.
