Odysseus and his crew later return to the Greek islands where they met other different societies.

Throughout his journeys, odyssey encountered extraordinary people that compelled him to leave the island and the love that attracted him to his new place. In nearly all the places that Odysseus and his crew docked their ships, they met strange people or people who had strange behaviors. At the same time, some of the societies welcomed Odysseus and his crew and gave them heroic treatment (Johnston web). Kings or religious leaders in these places were always part of the welcoming team. To reach the climax of their warm welcome to the strange people, the king gave their daughters as gifts to Odysseus. However, Odysseus was reluctant to accept his brides because of his lovely wife that he had left behind. However, the passion and love of his hosts and gifts usually haunted him as he sailed in the Mediterranean with his crew. On the other hand, Odysseus did not only receive warm welcomes since he faced hostilities that made him lose his men. His encounters explain the male and female archetype in his fantastic journey.
