Introduction Dead as They Come by Kin Platt is novel about the masculine characteristics and influence which has dominated our social and political affairs. The anguish, aggressiveness, vigilance, astuteness and ruthless are the highlighted features of masculine which have been discussed in this novel. Our society has been a man dominated society. Looking into history of our society, the norms of the society have been always influenced and developed by men. If we look into our history, the man has developed and exploited the laws of the society in its favour, and has often tried to reinforce its masculinity on society – in particular on female population. The women have been subject to intense physical influence and sexual assault by masculine infuriated element. The novel is appropriate representation of the influence which the masculine group had over the females; the representation of sexual lust and physical aggressiveness is reality. The oppressive behaviour of the masculine society has been its inherent trait, and there are traces of sexual abuse and physical vanity in the masculine dominated society. The novel is the true depiction of the fact that the masculine society has emerged as frustrated and aggressive group which has exercised its authority on the females. This novel reflects the case of a businessman-lover which has remained isolated from the society and history, but has great lust towards sex, and has attempted to exercise his might and supremacy on the females at several instances. The character has declared his alienated obsessions towards feminism, and his profound interest towards sexual course. Discussion The Masculinity Theory is based upon the outcome of the sociological research which was undertaken to understand the physical, sexual, emotional, psychological and social influence of the male population over their society, in particular the female. In this world, it is the females on which the males can exercise their right, and this exercise is supported by religions and cultures. The influence of masculine on the human society has been strongly founded upon their strong physical capabilities, and sexual desire and aggressive attitude. It has been the presence of feminine which has made their masculine counterpart aware of their supremacy, authority, rights and power. It was the Sex Role theory which served as basis for the influence of masculine on the society, in particular the feminine. This role further engulfed the gender differences between both the sexes. Once the differences were identified, and the magnitude of their extent was estimated, it was only afterwards that the masculine subjected the feminine under their physical, social and emotional influence. The discrimination of the grounds of gender differences was responsible for keeping the females isolated in the society, and it was their masculine counterpart who grabbed this opportunity and tried to hold these beauties under their command and obligation. The novel has described that it has been the physical supremacy and intelligence quotient of masculine which is responsible for their might against feminine. The novel has discussed a unique approach of masculine behaviour and approach towards the feminine. The approach discussed is much different from the traditional ways, and therefore in this novel has liberty of feminism exists. The major attraction and pull for the masculine towards feminine has been sex, and therefore this element has been repeatedly discussed in this novel. The element of sexual lust and desire has always compelled the masculine to exercise their might on the females, and these females have been subjected to molestation and abuse. Under Masculine Theory, the male has physical advantage over female and therefore the male has the right to exercise his authority and might on the female. Under the previous concept of masculinity as discussed in the novel, the masculine were threat to the order of the world. However after reforms and inclusion of certain rights, the masculine has emerged as defendant of this world. The masculine are bring supported by feminine in this battle for survival and struggle. The changing order of society and world has introduced major amendments in the Masculinity Theory. This novel is right approach in this direction; the novel has provided out-of-box thinking for the masculine and is reflection of reforms which changed the dynamics of relationship between the masculine and feminine from bitter to cordial. Initially, the females were regarded as sex icon and there is sufficient evidence in Masculine theory, however it was realization of the potent challenges and vested interests of the masculine and feminine which brought all the counterparts at equal forum for consensus, and therefore we now observe that the feminine has emerged at part with their masculine affiliates.
