? Technology contributed majorly in Joan’s ability during the battlefield differently for instance wood technology had an impact to the war. It was developed in the medieval period as it can be seen to have led to the construction of structures like sawmill to which shows how some structures built contributed to the benefit during the battlefield. This later develops with the use of stones in the improvement of the structures. Its invention led to the placement of structures like building which were use for structures like housing, bridges castles and forts to monitor their enemies and for security purposes. This invention can be said to have contributed her ability as her soldiers had a place to stay from the weather and prepare for their battle and the towers used in watching their enemies when they are coming to attack them and could be used by Joan during war. The invention led to the technology of blades which Joan used in her fight. Water was also a technology which led to the source of power through water powered mills which led to machinery and mechanical power. This led to the invention of paper mills and carding mills among others which can be said to have reduced labor and enabling their participation to the war. Iron production can also be seen as a technology which contributed to the invention of swords, horse shoes and also the edge on tools which was a contribution in the war as there were metallic tools made of copper, zinc among others which were used in creating weapons to be used during the fight. Their armor was made using metallic materials which could protect them from attacks by their rivals. The army could also use horses in its attack as they can move at a high speed and also are strong and with the unified army on Joan’s leadership increased its strength as compared to their enemies as they had goals in their battle. 2. Joan urge to be a leader came from the medieval culture which contributed to her character with her being religious she believed that God is the one who chose her to become the army leader. The people were not into it as during that period it had been seen by some people claiming to have received divine from God and from Joan’s crowning to Dauphin Charles (pg13) as the king stating to be taking orders from God made people to have different thoughts about her as she had won battle after battle. This led to her being supported by the French as they had seen potential in her leadership skills. Joan came from the catholic belief and did not attain education and from her parents assigning of jobs like taking care of the livestock and also her environment which was mainly survival contributed to her leadership skill as explained from Stephen. (pg26) He also mentions on the childhood experiences she had at the age of sixteen where they were attacked by Burgundians in their home area at Domremy in which their friends and relatives houses were burnt made her to want to become the leader to protect them. This was because of their suffering although they were not affected as their house was made of stone and not thatched but from her religious background this was a calling from God to protect them. She says to have experienced visions from the age of thirteen and during the time of the attack from the English period she said that she had been called by God to lead the French army to which she won. From this we are able to see that though she was not experienced in the military she was brave enough and from the vision she experienced God helped her in the leadership to victory and also to enable Dauphin Charles take his rightful place. 3.Joan of arc can be seen to be a commander from the letters we are see that she was commanding taking an example of the letter to the King and to the English soldiers…..do right by the King of Heaven….hand over to the Maiden, who is sent here by God the king of Heaven..the keys to all the towns which you have taken and violated in France….From this we can see that she spoke forcefully and used orders in her leadership as she also used God as the main inspiration or the person who has spoken to him. She was a person who was committed to her virtues and was confident about her ability to lead and fight for her people. She was brave and this is clear from the letters as she addressed directly to what she wanted to be done and did not care on the impact as she knew that a leader should stand by his or her values. Joan of arc can also be seen to be very religious and used the prophetic voice in addressing his views to the soldiers, English King and his soldiers and from this we are able to see that it led to her victories. Her fierce leadership skills is what made her soldiers to be serious about the battle which made them fight an also follow her orders. Her leadership skills can be seen to have developed from her background. Her parents being able to give her duties led to her be able to be a leader this is because she was able to lead the heard of livestock to feeding grounds. This can also be seen from her religious background in which she believed in her visions from God. She was brave enough to handle the visions at the age of thirteen showing how she was tough and believed that leaders were appointed from God. The war experienced when she was sixteen also contributed to her bravery and leadership qualities as she wanted to protect his neighbors and friends. This led to suffering in their stay as they could be attacked and lost all their property to their enemies. She had a unique style in addressing the soldiers and made decisions on each and every step they were going to undertake. 4. Joan of arc was intelligent though she did not attain education this is from her leadership skills which can be seen to be successful. She used dictatorial values in addressing everyone making each person taking it seriously. She had the passion to the leadership and thus worked for it leading to her win in the battles. From her tough nature we are able to see that she was committed to her work and also her personality showed that she was the rightful leader at that moment. The French did not refuse her leadership from her being a lady and from this it is evident that there was gender equality during that Era. Most of the French were reluctant at first but backed her later on from her achievement as she was able to face their English rivals who were disciplined and well co-ordinate with solidarity. By being able to have a military which supported her led to her being able to lead the army without any hesitations. She was able to make king Dauphin Charles take his rightful place which had been denied for years. Although she was a great leader her dictatorial skills cannot be said to be a better way of communicating to her army. Her personality in the future could led to either war a not all the people were up for her leadership skills since she was very commanding. This would have later on lead to poor leadership and also making them being defeated in times of war. Her personality can therefore be said to have contributed positively but only during that period in which they needed that. 5. Joan inspired her army as she was a true example in her leadership by her solidarity in enabling her soldiers work. She led them into battles and fought with them boosting their confidence. Her involvement in making a unified army and using her tough nature in her speech made them defeat their enemies (Richey 14). She was always on the go and his unshaken ability is what boosted their confidence in times of war. She encouraged them by making them see the benefit of the War from the English army. During the war we can see that she was shot with a spear and was able to remove it and continue in the battle which is a true inspiration in a leader, her confidence and her nature in what led to her winning in the war. Joan can also be seen as a military commander as she used orders to her military and also the outside people. She always proclaimed to have experienced visions which led to her military support. We are able to see that both of them are a major contribution to her role in the leadership to France. She used force and was dictatorial in her ruling as what she said had to be done. The morale booster in the military aided in the military being ready as they were not afraid of their enemies and also the fact that it was a woman who led in the battle made them to work harder and boosted their morale as they saw her persistence in the work she was doing. This can also be seen from her in her commanding ways as she could not be stopped by anyone as she was able to use dictatorial skills which were needed at that time. By so doing we find that the military needed both morale booster and the military support in order for them to succeed. 6. In Stephen book we are able to see that the fight was for King Charles who had been denied his rightful throne. An army should not only fight for an individual but also for whatever they need to progress. This also depends on the kind of person the army is fighting for because a good leader or a person with good morals will be able to be fought for regardless of how many lives are lost in the battle. This may be from their good leadership qualities or because the people find the need of fighting for someone. King Charles as seen was fought for from the support of Joan bravery who supported him and people saw the need for thing. An army can also fight for something else apart from someone and this shows that it depends with the kind of experience in a given place or country (Richey 16). This can be taken from the example of colonization as each country had an army with a leader in times of wars to regain their boundaries. It is important for an army to fight for what it values and cannot be said that an army can rather fight for an individual rather than a country. In France at that moment the military army was not organized which made it difficult to win in their battles and this made Joan come and help in the military organization. Joan at her age experienced the war in her home which made most of the people including friends lose their property. This made her to be determined and be able to protect them in times like those. From this we see that if the country needed something she would come along to assist them in conquering their enemies military forces thus making an army not only fight for an individual but also something which important to their livelihood.
