This illustration indicates that although the conditions in the society were humiliating and propagating inhumanness, the boy could still learn something good from the community. The lesson that the boy learns about making kite rekindles good memory as well thoughts of change. Largely, the boy demonstrated keenness when learning what Sam taught him. As a role model for the boy, he projected the other side of the community. While it is evident that the community had promoted ill acts where humiliation seems to be the order of activities, the young generation harbored a different idea about their community.

The boy’s rejection of humiliation is a symbol of new generation in a rotten one. It was probable that the boy could learn this bad trait and practice it elsewhere in his society, but goes a head to reject it. Although sometimes Hally could not control his emotions when talking about conflicting conditions in his life, he demonstrated that he did not like the conflicts he observed in his community. Life in Hally’s home was conflicting because the mother was a black, the discriminated race in the South Africa while the father was a white, the masters of apartheid (Fugard 26).

Ideally, living in this home was hell for some Hally because he belonged to no world when the two family members met. In the family, he is at the centre of conflict, a child of a white man and the black woman in a country that discriminated against the black race. On the contrary, Hally did not let the forces in his life wear him down. He was able to reject the counsel of his mother that were conflicting to his ideas of freedom and the character of his father that he felt did not promote the interest of the.

The essay states that the author of the play “Master Harold and the Boys” used his experience to tell a story about the South Africa during the apartheid. The author, Harold Athol Fugard, uses his play to describe his personal experience on inhuman treatment in details. The author of the play states that being a half cast of Black woman and White man, he did not like the situation in his country. So that, the narration of the play brings human forces and societal forces into test. Critically, the play focused its themes of the inhuman conditions, which the society had to endure during that times.

The researcher suggests that while it is arguable, that the author intended to project the evils of apartheid, the themes of play are relevant in the present society. The society described in play does not have anything to offer to the new generation, however the author introduces two boys Hallys and his friend who seems to reject the current state of their community. In conclusion, the researcher mentiones that the play describes a society, which had perpetrated inhuman attributes, that he had survived.

However, the young boy does not wish to be part of the society, that perpetrates humiliation against fellow human. The author uses the boy to symbolize change that he believed the society would achieve later. Rejecting the conflicting conditions was indeed difficult for the boy yet he did not wish to give in. It is arguable that although the boys had learnt, the process was not any easy.
