Why do we need employment law? “You are fired!” – this phrase is very popular in the modern world. Nothing can protect us from being fired the next day. Or we can receive a trauma at work and the administration can refuse to pay compensation. Does every employee know how to defend himself and his rights?
The above passage would be a perfect start for lecture on employment law. People prefer to know only what they need to know at the very moment. The majority of people do not understand why they need to learn employment law. They think that they can apply to lawyer if they need to know anything. However, we live in the society, which has its own laws created by people for their own benefit. And the lack of knowledge can bring much harm and create a difficult situation. Thus, every person should know his rights and obligations and how to defend them. Employment law is the set of rules, which regulate the relations between employee and employer. Every person should learn these rules by heart. Employer should know what he can demand from his workers and what he can’t demand from them. The workers should know that their rights are defended and regulated by employment law, thus they can’t be fired without any reasons or immediately. And if they hear the phrase “you are fired”, they have a right to get explanations and should be given some time to find a new job as well as financial compensation. Read More
