Criminal Justice Agencies and Private Sector Organizations of Learning Similarities Regulation They are both under regulations which ensure that their day to day activities conform to the laws governing the country. Each activity in the private sector has to follow a set of regulations provided by the licensing authority. In the case of criminal justice agency, they have to abide by the guidelines provided by the legislative, judicial and the executive branch of the government.SecurityThey also possess high interest in the security of their area of operation.

Private sector organisations are mainly interested in security as a measure of protecting their business interest while the agency involvement in security procedures is mainly to safeguard the public interests (Bailes etal., 2004). DifferencesOwnership and activities The private sector organisations ownership is the hands of private individuals whereas the criminal justice agencies are run by the government. Organisations in the private sector work towards profit making for the benefit of the shareholders while the agencies are non-profit making providing services to the citizens.
