Week 3 discussion questions No: Week 3 Discussion questions The children faces difficulty is absorbing the ideas related to the symmetry because, children have not learnt some similar thing earlier and the concept is new for the children. On the other hand children don’t understand the spoken works too much. The children understand the words in combination with the visual aids. They need pictures and gestures from the teachers to understand the concept fully. I will utilize the pictures of different creatures that the children have seen in the zoo or at other places and the try to use hand gestures that allow children to fully understand the concept of symmetry.

Then I will give them drawn animals to find out their symmetry. Thus the concept symmetry becomes easy for the children to understand. As I live in the state of Florida, it will be easier to discuss the flag of Florida to evaluate the line of symmetry. The flag of Florida has no lines of symmetry it is unable to divide the image on the center of the flag. The seal on the flag represents no lines of symmetry. However, the central seal is a circular image and an image could have infinite number of lines, while the mirror image of the flag of Florida remains the same except the picture in the central seal.

The easiest way to evaluate the lines of symmetry is to take the mirror image of the original image in all directions. It is the best method to evaluate the symmetrical image of any object.
