Full The Injustices of the Justice System The Confessions portrays the injustices done in the system wherein one issupposed to be the advocate of peace, order and justice. The documentary tells about the grievous ordeal of four Norfolk good citizens who have been wrongly convicted. Danial Williams called the police in behalf of the victim’s husband who just got home. He became the first suspect and was interrogated and locked up in jail because of a confession he was forced to make. Nevertheless, when the DNA test results came in negative, instead of clearing the suspect, the investigators went looking for his accomplice, Joe Dick.

Derek Tice and Eric Wilson faced the same fate, being accused of a crime they did not even know about. Eventually, further DNA test results proved the suspects innocent but they were forced to make confessions which would later implicate them. After confessions were made, edited and crafted by the investigator, detective Ford, to make the testimonies of the suspects to corroborate with the evidences picked at the scene, a break in the investigation came out. A letter from an inmate, Omar Ballard, confessing about the crime, was submitted to the investigators.

For the four suspects though, the break was already too late for them because of the confessions they made earlier. Trying to cover several mistakes that have already been committed, detective Ford made all the suspects confess to the same story that included Ballard in the scene. However, the real criminal did not agree with the suggestion so that he was not allowed to testify in court about the case. As a result, the four were imprisoned. Wilson was released after serving his term of eight and a half years.

Tice Williams and Dick were given conditional pardon in 2009. Ford was imprisoned for extortion and making false statements.
