Running Head: Projective Techniques Projective Techniques Gay marriage/Same-sex marriage by simple definition is the marriage that involves the marriage of the same sexes, either a man and a man or a woman and a woman. This issue has been under comprehensive discussion from a few years and people have been fighting for their rights for same-marriages in the countries in countries such as United States of America and United Kingdom. In fact, various legal issues that are involved in this type of marriage have been made quite a bit too hard for the people by the federal government in the traditional; the federal government had no meaning in attempting to acquire the meaning of the marriage and therefore was a sign that any type of marriage made known by the state/counties should also be made known by the federal government even though quite some issues have to be faced for the recognition of this type of marriages by other states/counties of the country. Therefore, this means that the state or county is liable for the successful implementation of the rights that are required by the common citizens so that the people can conduct these marriages and register their marriages through proper law. With the introduction of the act of defense of marriage, the people found it easy somehow and got a way clear on how to go about and encounter various problems and issues because this act was clear in its order that marriage by definition was the union of a man with a woman. So the people were aware that what type of struggle was coming their way for getting their points transferred successfully in the upper houses of the United Kingdom. Moreover, at the present time there is no dedicated agency that has recognition on government level for this same sex marriage that people have forced for legalization. Those people who agree to the point that the law of United Kingdom should be amended to permit the same sex marriage present various reasons in their favor. The very first point that they put forward is that if at any moment of time, any place in the country, if two people are having a relationship, then it is not the job of the government to know about and furthermore intervene into their relationship and label it illegal. These people should have their own rights equal as other citizens, and therefore there is need to have a definition of the nature and the extent of relationship that these couples can have legally. The same sex marriage advocates are of the view that their points and issues should be addressed and therefore the government should include the interests and recognition of the appropriate and committed people in their relationship and thus their rights to be respected by everyone. Therefore, if the laws of the UK are amended for stabilizing and legalizing the same sex marriage then simultaneously there would result in reduction in the need of the society to support these people and to treat them artificially. The people in the society mainly ensure that each of the spouses of the couple has got appropriate safety and thus an argument presented by the supporters of the same sex marriage there is practically no difference in the abilities possessed by the same sex and the opposite sex in fulfilling their commitments about anything they are suppose to do. An argument that arises due to the belief of the government to be involved in the marriage is that the issues that usually come forth due to the sexual acts between men and women and these people are of the view that the education of the children is well carried about if they live among their biological parents but at the same time there is much less chances of conflicts in same sex marriage as compared to opposite sex marriage. With all the points put forward by the advocates of the same sex marriage, the other point of view that goes against this type of marriage are also there. These people argue that the society of the United Kingdom that we live in encourages the legal marriages that is they prefer the monogamy type of marriage as they are of the view that these couples would be very committed in their lives and would do everything that is legalized in their marriage such as child bearing and going on with this argument they present the view that same sex marriage do not have children and thus they see it not very acceptable for these couples to enjoy legal rights equal to that of opposite sex marriage. Those that are against this type of marriage and oppose this idea on international level are groups such as Alabama policy institute which present the reasons that best fit because if the untraditional idea of the same sex. According to them, the main reason of the marriage is to bear children and therefore; they claim that in same sex marriage, one way or the other, one of the person in the couple is unfertile and thus it projects their marriage as a long term mating strategy along with the social and economic compensations that would influence the growth and stability of the family. In conclusion, the gay or same sex marriage couples should be given equal rights as it is their constitutional right to exercise the same equality as other citizens of the country. This is because these people have strong reasons for deciding to have the union and thus the government should take this issue seriously for amendment of family law for the recognition of their relationship. At the same time, there are certain groups and association that are against this idea of same sex marriage, so the government should have to weight both sides so that the laws does not cause any conflicts among the two groups. For final words, the people should be given their due rights and responsibilities to do whatever they think is right in their minds and that they can present strong reasons for those rights as well and the government should in this case amend the laws of country to compensate and project a sign of harmony of government with the issues of its people.
