The policemen will also get salary increases to prevent them from indulging in corrupt activities due to their lack of satisfaction in their daily duties (Goldstein, 2006). Additionally, the operations of the police force and members of the community will also be closely monitored and evaluated to ensure that their activities are law abiding. These strategies would be the most appropriate since they are aimed at improving the living standards of the people by reducing crime among them (Rodgers, 2008).

They are also appropriate since they will enable the close cooperation of the society along with the police in fighting crime (Weisburd, 2011). Policemen working to ensure there is peace and security will also be more satisfied in their jobs and will be more vigorous in dealing with crime (Rodgers, 2008). These strategies will be implemented at once through the close cooperation between the police force and members of the community (Oliver, 2008). As the chief of police in an area where the society has been experiencing increases in criminal activities over the last six months, there are various policies which are problem-oriented that would be utilized in eliminating the problems being encountered.

The problems range from assaults against visitors who come into the area to purchase drugs, shootings that are drug- related, robberies and the selling of drugs. Due to the demands of the community leaders, the police chief along with his force will involve the close cooperation of members of their society to help them in curbing these problems (Oliver, 2008). The process will involve the identification along with analysis of the criminal activities that affect the community. This will be followed by the formation of response teams to address the issue and formulate appropriate strategies for solving the problems (Rodgers, 2008).

Among the strategies that will be at the team’s disposal will be increasing their communication with members of the society and improving the relationships that exist between members of the police force (Weisburd, 2011). This will ensure that their efficiency and required integrity levels are maintained during their operations at all times (Goldstein, 2006). By collaborating with members of their community, the police force will be able to identify the individuals who are dealing in drug related criminal activities (Rodgers, 2008).

This will further enable them to effectively arrest the culprits from their hideouts through the information forwarded to them by members of their public (Weisburd, 2011). After making the arrests, the culprits will then be interrogated for the purpose of ascertaining the root causes of their indulgence in the criminal activities (Oliver, 2008). The response teams will then develop effective strategies that will address their issues and they will then take appropriate measures in dealing with them.

Due to these interventions, the area under the police chief’s jurisdiction will become safer in due time for the coming bowl game (Weisburd, 2011). The region will be hosting the game in the coming few weeks, thereby implying that more police officers will have to be recruited for the purpose of increasing their surveillances in the region during the game (Goldstein, 2006). The community will have to be introduced officially to all police officers
