Journal Entry 2: Key Issues of 1st Journal: My colleague: My colleague was suffering from low self-esteem, insecurity, low span of comprehension, panic attack, accusations for the sake of self- defense, and lack of trust on others. She had been under a lot of stress due to personal or professional issues, which made her dissatisfied all the time and moreover, she was not able to concentrate on her work as well. Persistent distraction, low attention span, job insecurity, crabby attitude were the core causes of her poor progress at work.

Yet, failure to complete a task according to requirements pushed her for panic attack, which later on changed into anger and frustration due to her own in-competencies. Her premature conclusion about the mistakes led her to act unprofessionally and make a spectacle of herself in front of the whole office. Myself:Since I was aware of her existing mental status and whinny nature, I had a preset conception about her also. We worked together and I saw how distracted she is and how abruptly she wanted to finish the task.

These observations made me a little edgy too, but I was able to maintain my temper instead of becoming a part of blame game. However, in front of supervisor I stated my stance and revised the work to verify that the mistakes were inserted from part. Challenging situations sparked anger in me also, which immediately was interlinked with self-defense mechanism. Hence, due to this reaction theory one instantly starts concealing their mistake, despite of its awareness. Supervisor: The shouting, complaining, and challenging stance of my co-worker led the supervisor to act and interfere immediately.

However, to our good luck she didn’t blame or accused us for anything, but rechecked the work with me to check the mistakes. Her composure and prudent handling of critical situation enabled me to rectify the work and highlight the mistakes on her part (colleague).
