In most cases, human resource manager is mandated of establishing a strong employer-employee relationship. To achieve this function, human resource manager is assigned a variety of functions in within the organization. To ensure that the entire department of HR in an organization it is essential that all the functions are taken into consideration and proper planning is adhered to. Importantly, it is how HR managers are mandated in recruiting the right people in the organization that will determine how well the organization performs. Moreover, it is the way that HRs are supposed to keep track to the increased advancement of technology. This takes into account the ways into which new trends are being innovated and they must be incorporated into an organization. As such, it still becomes the role of the HR manager to recruit new employees that are equipped with these skills. In this context, database management in an organization is very crucial in an organization. The performance of an organization depends on how the database is designed and managed. This is yet another form duty that the HR is supposed to be infirmed before employing the database managers. Therefore, this calls for the recruitment of quality employees who possess the skills needed to manage and ensure that the database is operating efficiently. In this essay, therefore, duties of a HR manager in recruiting the right personnel who will manage and ensure that the database system will operate well in a fast growing company will be looked into. Additionally, the skills of designing the database and integrating it in the company will be addressed. 1. Designing and development of an HR DBMS Taking Transaero airline as the organization of choice that is steadily growing with time, it will be easy to design its database and show the functions of the HR in this. Transaero is one of the growing companies where it has modernized making positive changes in within the business. To keep up with the growing speed of the company, the HR database should possess various characteristics. These include: i. A good communicator. This character allows the HR to be able to handle other employees whenever there is any upcoming issues. The character will also enable the HR to listen to the situation and give out the correct judgments. ii. Should be a good presenter- such a character allows the HR database to be able to address his fellow employees. This will enable the HR to keep them engaged in whichever conversation and ensure that the message is delivered in the right manner. iii. Should be innovator- this character enables the HR database to come up with various solutions that are facing up his fellow employees. This character enables the HR database to come up with easy and ready solutions to the problems facing the department. iv. Should be a good decision maker- a successful HR database, one must be a strategic planner while making decisions after considering all the facts. Once the right HR with the quality characteristics is shortlisted, it becomes easy to design the entire database system for the organization. Before designing the database, it is essential that business functions are well understood so that the right model together with the actual database will be developed at ease. Once the model and the plan of the database has been developed, it becomes easy to develop and implement the actual database. This will take into account the functions of the database in regard with the organizations requirements. When developing the database management system for the Transaero Airline, it is crucial to ensure that various functionalities are being integrated with the system so that the system must be efficient. In this case, the database administrator is mandated in ensuring that all these functionalities are integrated within the system. To begin with, the system needs to have a good data storage management. This function will help in effective storage of data together with any other form of entry form, report definition, and validation of data. Another functionality that would be incorporated in the system is the data transformation and presentation. Such a function will always transform any entered data into the required data structure. In turn, the system can be able to differentiate any form of logical and physical data formats that are being entered. Another crucial functionality that the system will have is the security of the entire data system. The system should ensure that the data is accessed by authorized users only. Data intergrity is another function that the system should enhance. The functionality should be able to reduce data redundancy within the organization thus maximizing the system is always giving the right answers when a question is possed. Lastly, the system should ensure that there is effective ways of backing up and recovering any lost data. The design that will be used to develop the system will rely on the functions that the system is expected to perform. In this case, before developing the system it is wise to take into consideration what the organization wants to achieve. In the case of Transaero Airline, career planning and performance review in the organization. Career planning involves knowing who an individual is and what they ought to do to be where they desire. Importantly, this process is continuous and the HR must account this to all the employees in the organization. As a result, the system should help in tracing the progress of every individual in the organization. Additionally, the system should be able to make changes that are associated with the changing careers of the employees without any distortion of the stored infotmation. Performance review is another critical role of the HR that is used to check the way employees are performing. Carrying out this exercise is important as it is a way of evaluating the performance of employees by HR department. As such, the DBMS is essential in keeping track to this exercise as the data stored in the system is used to conduct the exercise. The functionalities of the system are applicable in this exercise since the stored information is the one used to carry out the exercise. Also the confidentiality of the results of the exercise are maintained by the system. 2. Role of IT in HR department IT has grown all through in all departments of an organization. This is inclusive of the HR department that employees the IT in its daily functions. While carrying out the recruitment and selection of employees by this department IT plays a great role. The application and calling of the interviews is done electronically. Also, after selection of the suitable candidates, their information is documented in the systems that records their progress with time. Also, employees are trained within the organization using the electronic gadgets that relies on IT. Notes, audio, and video tuitorials are sent to the trainees in soft copy. Also, training can be done through video calls where the trainees are far apart from each other. IT has also helped in career planning of the employees progress in the organization. The information regarding every employee since they joined the organization is document and secured using special software. Any change of an employee is done using these software that make relevant changes concerning the employees information. Reviewing of the way employees are performing is done using applications that produce a clear analysis of their performance indicating various areas that need to be improved at. Lastly, the employees social life is enhanced by IT in a special way. This is after keeping record of their health status and their security using automated devices. Also, employees tend to have group chat where they share general ideas and tend to interact together away from the work settings. 3. Utilization of HRSI in the HR department A human resource information system (HRIS) refers to a computer application that assembles and processes data that is related to the human resource management (HRM) function. The system contains database that keeps files and any relevant data that the system needs to run as well as the database management system. The DBMS in this system allows users to access and make use of the stored data. The system thus contains tools that enables the user to input data and make changes on the existing date. HRIS can be implemented into an organization such as Transaero airline. With such an integration, customers of this organization can be able to manage their own accounts in this organization. This is after being granted the chances of interacting with their database in the company by entering new ones while editing the existing data. As such, customers can be able to book their flights at any time and make changes of their flight details that will be as well reflected in the center of data administration. Additionally, these users can be able to trace their relationship with the organization by reviewing the statistics provided by the system. In conclusion, IT has played a crucial role in boosting business operations. The integration of the technological devices and programs has improved the performance of the HR department where the management of the employee’s life is easily managed by the existing systems. DBMS is one of the IT tools that has helped in the management of the employees due to the proper management of their information as well as updating any changes that they undertake.
