A significant set of sub-topics have been considered for this agenda. This is to ascertain that they add great value to the final objective of this training session, which is to enhance employee knowledge of key notions behind data communication. The top sub-topic is the definition of computer networks. In simple terms, computer networks refer to the interconnection of computers over the internet to facilitate sharing of data from one computer to another. Computer networks are of great importance to an organization in that they play a huge role in ensuring that there is a quality information-sharing platform among staff members.

The second sub-topic is data communication, which entails electronic transmission of computer data from one point (source) to another (destination). In essence, data communication acts as the building to enhance the quality of the day-to-day business operations of an organization.Thirdly, it is on the subject of the importance of computer networks. As stipulated earlier, computer networks are of great importance to the operations of an organization. This is because they play a very important role in the delivery of fast, accurate, and secure sharing of organizational data amongst the staff members.

Consequently, it creates a quality platform for coming up with and sharing sound business decisions. Types of computer networks are the fourth sub-topic. To be exact, there are many types of computer networks in use in most successful organizations. These include the LAN, WAN, MAN, WLAN, SAN, PAN, and VPN. LAN stands for Local Area Network, WAN IS Wide Area Network, MAN is Metropolitan Area Network, WLAN is Wireless Local Area Network, SAN is Storage Area Network while VPN refers to a Virtual Private Network.

The fifth topic is Network architecture, which refers to the design of a communications network. In essence, it entails a complete framework of the interconnection of computers for efficient transmission of data from one point to another. In conclusion, it is essential to outline that a thorough comprehension of the network concepts is a key requirement for the success of an organization. To be precise, knowledge of these concepts by NDAs staff members will play a huge role in ascertaining that data communication is applied in promoting the achievement of the set-out business goals.

It is hereby fundamental that all the NDA staff members do their best in comprehending the key concepts behind data communication). One of the most recent data communication systems is nCompass, which is enabled by two companies namely Legrande and Superior Essex. nCompass offers fast and secure data communication services necessary for the efficient operations of an enterprise organization. This makes it fundamental that NDA put the need for integration of nCompass in its day-to-day data communication operations.

A significant number of data communication standards are used in data communication. These standards include HTML, HTTP, SMTP, IMAP, TCP, IP, and POP. HTML refers to HyperText Markup Language while HTTP entails HyperText Transfer Protocol. Additionally, SMTP is Secure Mail Transfer Protocol, IMAP stands for Internet Message Access Protocol, TCP stands for Transmission Control Protocol, IP stands for Internet Protocol while POP stands for Post Office Protocol. The development and implementation of the aforementioned standards are by a well-organized set of standardizing groups.

Most commonly, these groups include the IEEE, which stands for Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers. Another one is the IETF, which stands for Internet Engineering Task Force. Upon a thorough analysis of the aforementioned standards, it is important that NDA adhere to the following. These are TCP, IP, IMAP, POP, and HTML. To be precise the highlighted standards provide the basis for secure and efficient sharing of data and messages from one computer to another. Therefore, the adherence to these standards by NDA facilitates efficient achievement of the set-out business and operation goals.

One of the most crucial protocols for data communication over the internet is the TCP/IP protocol. In other words, the Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol is the basis for the efficient operations of the computer networks. It provides a secure and fast platform for sharing organizational data. As indicated in the bullet points below, the TCP/IP is of great importance in data network operations. • The TCP/IP provides the basic communication language for the internet. • It is made of two main layers.

• The higher layer is the Transmission Control Protocol• Transmission Control Protocol is responsible for assembling and disassembling messages into packets• In essence, TCP provides an efficient platform for data transmission over the internet.• The lower layer is the Internet Protocol (IP).• IP is responsible for the addressing of packets to ensure that they are transmitted to the right destinations.
