Friedman identifies ten flatteners, which he considers as levelling the global playing field, and among those flatteners, Go4customer fits in the offshoring category, that is, the relocation of a company’s operations or other enterprise overseas to take advantage of the lesser operation costs. This has been the trend within the last decade wherein many American companies outsourcing jobs to countries like India, Vietnam and the Philippines in order to reduce operation cost and increase their income. The United States can absolutely benefit from this company: (1) sending jobs – including executive positions – offshore to lessen the amount of money needed to run the company. Countries like India and the Philippines have significantly lower minimum wages, which could bring more profit for an American company willing to outsource their business processes; (2) American companies can take advantage of the highly-skilled workforce in India or elsewhere by using web-based services like virtual assistance, IT-related jobs, market research, etc. Read More
