Question 2 (Pros and cons of the internet as a system) The Internet is a completely interconnected system that allows convergence among the cultures of nation-states into a homogenous system of beliefs and values. It connects people belonging to all ethnic, cultural and national groups. Internet information flows result in convergence of beliefs and values that in turn results in the formation of global identity rather than national identity. “The more central a country is in the network, the greater its individualism” (author_last_name, p.168). Question 3 (Network convergence and national identity)When information flow is efficient and repetitive, network convergence will be able to unite the participants, and as a result, all the participants will achieve the same national identity due to decreased or even diminished variance among them.

Question 4 (cultural homogenization…) Yes, I believe so because universal culture will promote a universal set of accepted beliefs, values and standards. This will lead to lower variance and difference of opinions and perspectives among people of all nations. People will start accepting each other, and no one will consider the other persona as an alien.
